The server is full, try again later (1017)

You know what is sad... I jumped to a JP server and it's dead compared to the NA server I play on. Crazy.

Not reading through 76 pages of the same stuff... Please implement an auto disconnect ASAP for anyone that is non-active in the game for more than a certain period of time, say 30 minutes for example. There are tons of afk people taking up precious slots during times like this when server space is limited. Thanks.

And it's sad that we have even asked for this a looooong time ago. It would be nice to see this happen!

It is also sad to me that I made it to lvl20 in p4 before I got locked out of the server for over a day, then I come to play ea and I have gained... One level! Because I can't even play. That should show for something. I don't want to not play. I love these games to zone out and relax and I haven't been able to at all yet =(

The bulk of the players aren't even playing yet! Most people aren't going to be in on the early access. This is the kind of problem that KILLS MMOs square. If you can't put in a competent queue system at the very least, Three, four whole points will be knocked off reviews. There also needs to be an auto-disconnect timer.

I'm absolutely furious, I pre ordered the collector's, and I have barely gotten to play in EA, not to mention phase 4 had tons of problems too. I demand compensation, and a solution to this problem, an error code is not a solution bring back the queue and limit the max population I know that people are logging out, so why the hell can't I join the line to get in? I'm disgusted, I have friends in ireland playing on my NA server (Gilgamesh) and they're in the 30s now, I'm barely in the 20s. I'm severely disappointed, four phases of beta and we're still encountering numerous problems. This isn't looking good and I'm considering a refund for my copy of the game.

I find it absurd that I can't even wait in a queue, put me in a queue of 4,000 people, I don't care. I will wait, but this spamming log in BS has got to go. Also, not having and autokick for idle players is ridiculous, especially during times like this when we can't login, because no one is going to log out now. The game has been released. I put up with this during beta and didn't complain, but now you're on time I am paying for. Get on top of this SE.

Queues don't bother me, set it up and come back in a bit but error 1017 is unacceptable.... This had better be straightened out soon or I'll end up playing this game as long as the first (30 days). If the servers can't handle the load CLOSE DOWN THE NEW CHAR OPTION - just lock out the server then monitor it, if actually players online dips then open up char creation again for a brief window.

I honestly thought figured it out this time around - server management for a MMO is not exactly new

SE just needs to invest in a few more servers, or something. Definitely an AFK booter within the range of 15-20 minutes, so space doesn't get clogged. I honestly hope that the 1017 issue is resolved, so we can all continue playing. Looking forward to subscribing in the future, and progressing my character. At this rate it'll be to late.. I went through 1.0 I don't feel like waiting to play a game because they can't get their shit together. I'm tired of working all day then coming home to relax while playing a game to find out that I'm unable to play it because they want me to click start 900 times for a chance to log in.

I'm also tired of these updates telling us that they've fixed some log in issue when in fact they've fixed nothing. There are people that have been unable to log in and play since Saturday, so what the hell have they fixed?

I can't get my legacy character past the damn low level story line because when I do get the option to play I get booted or a random maintenance begins. This is crap.

The sad thing here is if we tried to do something like what they have done with the 1017 in our jobs we would be fired. It saddens me that they are so incompetent in way they "FIX" the servers. I loved FFXI and it has broken my heart to see them come out with the crap that was 1.0. I so want this game to be the best MMO out there and not just a clone of others, and they have made so many improvements its actually a great game and fun to play. The real game breaker is its not gonna be a great MMO cause they cant there heads around a simple numbers issue with people vs servers. I forgive and forget so easily, but many people will not they have been burnt once by 1.0 and now this failure to get a grasp on a issue they have known about since P4 baffles most of us. I hope they get there heads around this and fix it soon as most peoples patience want last much longer. And lastly if they need to split the populations on the server so they can handle the loads just tell us, do it, and lets get on and play the game you spent so much time and effort saving, don't let server kill this game

I have to admit I am surprised that they still have not worked out a better method of restricting logins other than the current error 1017. As others have said a queue would be better than this current scenario.
