Then its either been introduced by driver updates, or the hardware has gone bad.
User mode apps will not bsod a computer unless its already unstable.
Well, my experience with these crashes have been that they've only occurred with FFXIV and they increased in frequency yesterday after I updated to the latest nvidia drivers, went from once every few hours or so, if at all, to within 30 min of loading the game. I've reverted to 314.22 as some others have reported more stability with and it's improved in doing that.
I will point out that my gpu is under 50C when the crashes occur, so in my case at least it isn't about an overheating issue, doubt it's hardware as everything else is still running without any issues.
omg it is getting worst and worst i have tried different drivers but it is the FF that is constantly freezing :<
as soon as i logon , it freezes to death !!!!
I bough the game three days ago, and i havn't had any crash untill today. The game freezes my gaming rig to death randomly (sometimes after 2 hours, sometimes right after loging in). My rig is brand new (i bought it like two weeks ago), temperetures are all below medium, psu is corsair tx 650W. I have Asus 7950 radeon, so it's not nvidia drivers cousing problems, just to let people with nvidia chips know. One last thing, i can go through metro last light and far cry 3 on highest settings like through butter.
PS. Sorry for my english, but im a bit upset and dissapointed because of bug, which is clearly bug of the game itself cousing the problem, and only info i can find is "check your tempereture".
Intel Core i5 4570 3.20 GHz, turbo 3.60 GHz
MSI Z87-G43 GAMING
DDR3 KINGSTON 16 GB / 1600
ASUS HD 7950 3072 MB DDR5
Somehow switching "frame limit to 60" off in system config fixed the problem for now.
Seems I have the same issue. Can play the game from 20 minutes to 4 hours, but eventually my screen will freeze to one color and I have to restart my comp. When I do I get a message saying C++ Runtime Error. Not pleased, can run ANY other game with no problems.
I've been fighting this a lot since the last patch this week. Before then it might do it once a week or something.. now it is multiple times a night.
I wound up setting the Frame limit to force it to 30 tonight and it let me stay on for the rest of the night. I don't know if I just got lucky or it gets around whatever bug they've got in the code, but try it out I guess.
Force frame limit to 30 or 60 fps and install Nvidia drivers 314.22 I didn't have a single crash anymore.
After limiting it to 30, I was fine all day long with no blue screens until around 7 PM CST. Had two in about 10 minutes all of a sudden now.
