I have yet to have another crash/freeze since I started using that(as long I remembered to use it before starting ). It's a crude bandage for me, but I'll take it while waiting for a proper solution.
I'm a little lost on this. The link didn't explain it enough for me. Can you tell me exactly what you did? I'm desperate to fix all the crashing :O

Monitors: Three monitors installed with the primary (middle) used to display/play the game.
My computer is similar except for the video card/monitors:
    MB: ASRock Z87 (Extreme 4),
    CPU: Intel 4770 (non-K)
    32GB RAM Mushkin PC3-12800 (DDR3 1600)

As for crashing, it's doing it a lot, but varies between several minutes (the symptom right before it crashes is the frames lag, not frame-rate dropping), At maximum settings I get 24fps, and if I tick it down to get 30 or 60fps, the crashes will still happen, so the video card is not the culprit.
I have a tool called Process Lasso that I can use to kill/throttle processes, park cores and prevent processes from using the hyperthreading, even when the tool is disabled, the crashes happen.
I have a program that came with the motherboard called cfosspeed that throttles applications network use. After explicitly adding ffxiv to it and process lasso the crashes happen only slightly less, which suggests it's not these programs (basically the tweaks mean "don't touch this process")
I've used MSI Afterburner instead of the ASUS version to allow for video capture, as a side-effect it also spins up the GPU fan more aggressively. Crashes happen with and without this program running. The funny thing is, even if I record a full 90 minute dungeon run (200GB or so disk space) the frame rate is unphased, which suggests to me that there really is not a hardware problem at all.

But I'm not getting BSOD's just crashes.

To clarify, "frame dropping" is when the FPS go from like 30 to like less than 1, but the game is still responsive. Frame lag is where the drawing is being blocked by input or network i/o, of which the latter seems more likely since it happens most often when approaching the edge of a zone.

Event 41. Was playing for about 4 hours before this crash. This time my computer totally shutdown and rebooted without warning.

Just another update. Still getting full system crashes even if I turn every setting down to the minimum (you know, no AA, no shadows, No physics etc). Still seems as random as ever. I miss the days of Phase 3 and 4 when I could play literally all weekend and not crash once. I'm honestly contemplating speeding up upgrading my PC because of this. Obviously something with FFXIV changed and now it doesn't like my hardware.

I am having the same issue... It is only since the latest patch though that I started having this problem with the crashing (Stopped working) and the blue screens. I am getting these problems on 2 different systems that aren't even close on specifications. My conclusion is the problem lies in the update they did. I never had a crash in Beta 3 or 4, or up until Sept 5th Maintenance.

I still keep getting the crashes too. I've tried a good amount of the proposed solutions but nothing has seemed to work. I just don't understand how I can go a few hours on one day and then 30 minutes the next... it just seems so random. I was pleased to see a moderator address the existence of this problem but I would love to see a solution soon.

Also, it would be nice if the moderator kept us appraised of the threads in which they say they're addressing. I'm content as long as I know something is being done to rectify the problem in a somewhat timely manner.

Basically in the simplest it's just 2 steps.

    1.Install NvidiaInspector
2.Run the command where it was installed.

To make it little more convenient, I made shortcuts on my desktop for locking the speed and returning to normal and put them right next to the FFXIV icon so I would remember to use them.

Now that I have doe that, do I even need to run Nvidia Inspector, or am I good to go from here? Also when do I have to use this command, is it every time I turn on my computer, or whenever I want to play? I'll post the results on whether this fixes my crash later on!
As far as I know you don't have to run it separately afterwards, but you can check it from there did it work. You don't have to do it until you start playing, I only use it myself when I play this and for nothing else and also I do set it back to normal once I'm done if I still do something else. I do hope this worked for you as well as it worked for me or anyone else who might have tried.
