I wish my PC would give me a BSOD, atleast then I'd know just what the fluff is going wrong. I can play great for 8 hours without issue, then on another day I play for 10 minutes and my PC would shut off. I suspected a PSU problem but the part that really confuses me is that it's only happened on FF. Can play crysis,GTA 4, NFS run, WoW ( dual boxing ) and not a single stutter. All temps are very low, 40c on my phenom ii 850, 58 on my gpu, very normal temps, it helps that I have great cooling on my rig.

If someone could shed light on my problem I welcome it with open arms. On a side note, I took my PC apart yesterday and inspected it with a magnifying glass to check for bad capacitors and motherboard crack/wear, I even opened up my PSU ( warranty void -.- ) not a single sign of burns, wear or bubbles, nothing! I'm truly STUMPED

Sounds like you're having the same issue as me. Usually my PC "shuts off" after about 30-60 minutes of play. It only happens during FFXIV. I let Sim City 5 run all night and I woke up to see it still going strong. No other activity causes this behavior. Sitting around in the FFXIV menu also doesn't cause the issue. It only happens during active gameplay.

Is there a separate thread about our issue, or any other info?

Same Here, I have a super computer, Nvidia card, quad core, the works, but for some reason, whether it be 5 minutes into game play or 5 hours, I always seem to get a crash that dead stops my computer, other programs and all. The only thing I notice is that the music of ff14 still plays, no sound effects, but the music loops. My pointer keyboard and desktop all lock up and I get No error messages, no warnings, no nothing.

Anyone else know whats up or having the same problem?

I have pretty much the exact same problem with an Nvidia GTX 650 ti. I posted a thread about it, but no solutions so far.

    Hi Guys,

I have been having this issue for over 2 weeks. I just bought a cheap ATI card because it appears that most people having the issue are using nvidia products.

It seems almost completely random to me.... I have tried everything I know off and more. I have scoured the internet for hours upon hours. I have thought I solved this problem so many times. Sometimes one of my fixes would work for days, and sometimes would not help at all

What I have tried and still have the issue (Note sometimes one of the fixes would work for days, and sometimes would not help at all):
    1. Installed on both my SSD and 2 normal harddrives
Installed Every Nvidia Driver between 314.22-331.40
Reformatted my Hard Drive with a fresh Install
Ran Extensive Stress Testing on CPU, RAM, and GPU without issue
      Temps are all fine
Uninstalled and Installed fresh Sound Drivers
      Lowered all graphics settings
      Disabled Framerate Limiter
      Disabled the Cinematic stuff
      Disabled all Overclocking
Disabled all Turbo Boost on Video Card, CPU, RAM, etc.
Undervolted my Video Card, CPU, RAM, etc.
      Disabled my second Monitor
      and much more...

    What I have figured out.
The issue can be duplicated, by starting the game and running the Windows Experience Index
Issue seems to happen more frequently when I have Netflix running as well as the game.
Frequency - happens immediately upon login sometimes and sometimes can play 15+ hours.
With Graphics completely turned down seems to happen less frequently, but still happens.

Well I hope my new ATI video card solves the issue. I will keep you updated.

**I have played for over 6 hours now without issue - Fingers Crossed

Alright so here is an update. I just wanted to once again confirm it was a nvidia problem. I reinstalled my old card with fresh drivers, and bam within 15 minutes my computer locks up and I have to restart.

I have been watching my GPU usage on my second monitor to help troubleshoot, and it seems like its a nvidia driver issue (which baffles me because I have rolled back to versions I know are stable like 314.22)

Turning your Graphics All the Up will cause the issue to happen more frequently (it seems)

I am still trying to figure it out exactly. It seems there is a Video Memory Leak between SE and the Nvidia Drivers; If I figure anything else out I will let you know.

My new ATI 7790 works amazing and am still have no crashes.

SOLUTION: Go ATI -- It is a Nvidia Issue

That's the "Video card driver has stopped responding and has been reset" , and that's the effect you get when you're full screen.

You can actually override the behavior
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...18(VS.85).aspx

But basically it means your video hardware is bad under some conditions. I used to get the driver reset a lot on a AMD 5750 when the card was about 3 years old and finally gave up on the card when it started actually having video corruption.
