Freeze/Crash & BSOD issues

I played for about three hours last night and did not have any freezes or hang-ups. I did however get a BSOD, and strangely it happened as I was going to log off for the night. The screen went black as the game was going to close and then into a blue screen. I checked the error and it was "bug check 0x21 QUOTA_UNDERFLOW" which is one I have never seen before.

I performed another Windows memory diagnostic, which came back with no errors. I also ran prime95 for half an hour last night and no errors were encountered. I will try running prime95 and furmark for an extended period tonight (possibly together). I'll also uninstall 326.80 and give the 326.84 driver a try and then I'll post the results. I'll use the Display Driver Uninstaller this time around as well.

Most of the time, the game becomes responsive again after a minute or so, but about 10% of the time, I'll get a BSOD and reboot.

I'm using the nVidia 312.xx drivers because the newest ones cause issue with some of my older titles.

Still having issue. Yesterday I installed Windows on a new drive and currently using that. Spent the whole of yesterday playing without an issue, today however the crashing begins. Twice in a couple of hours. Square Enix are you paying attention to these forums are we wasting our time?

I started having this problem today, following the update. Played for about 90mins and then got a windows popup saying the program had encountered an error and needed to close. Then about 30sec later, got BSOD. Logged back in and about another 90mins passed and the same exact thing happened again. I've never had any BSOD issues at all until the 9/4 patch.

This game runs very hot. If you're freezing/crashing it's probably high graphic load > heat > Intel speedstep kicks in and throttles CPU > crash.

Solution - disable speedstep in your BIOS, lower your graphics settings or get better cooling for your video card.

Weird I am on an amd fx 6300 custom build pc and my processor temps don't hit above 25-35 c and graphics card is a gtx 650 and it does not go above 65c plus I have not had issues with the boss I wish you guys luck and hope your problems correct themselves

I would be careful with disabling something for heat on the cpu. If the game is causing a lot of heat on the cpu, a better cooler is a far safer alternative to have a meltdown on your cpu. Cheaper too.

I'm also having random crashes.
I'm not getting a BSOD but my system just freezes, unable to do anything (can't close, ctrlaltdelete, alt tab etc) only thing I can do is restart computer using button on the box. I had 0 issues with Phase 3 and 4. Problem started with Early access like so many others have said.

Windows 7 64 bit
6GB RAM
intel i7 920 2.67 overclocked to 3.5
GTX 285 with 320.49

Machine runs perfectly with everything else. Not yet run any sort of stress tests or anything. Last time I did was when I Over clocked CPU and it was fine. System isn't getting too hot while playing this game (gets hotter playing of games and still runs fine)
Playing in windowed mode with graphics mid-high at 1600x900 resolution.

system crashes randomly when playing this game though happens most often when game is the focus rather than something like my browser. I have 2 monitors (if that matters at all). I can't see any reason ingame why it'd crash, I've been fine in fates with loads of people, been fine with all weather types. Played Sunday and Monday all day with no issues at all.

Willing to try anything to make this work but I think SE must've messed up with the release patch. Phase 4 was flawless for me.

I'm having similar problems and I've tried many of the solutions suggested but nothing seems to work. What happened to me was that I was getting BlackSOD from time to time but now I can't get past a particular cutscene because each time my computer crashes. It seems like my computer handled other more graphically intensive moments during the game but can not get past this one cutscene.

I have never had this problem before and I've played recent games on high settings. I can understand it's maybe a hardware problem but it's FFXIV that is the cause of that problem. I would just love to know which aspect of the game is causing this situation for so many people.

Sidenote... I have an open ticket with no response yet. Someone already said they had one open for 5 days so I'm not holding my breath.

This is pretty much similar to my setup, except I'm running an i7 960 and a gtx680. I just upgraded to 320.49, was running a 314 before. Also exactly same result for me, I run on two monitors, windowed maximized. First the game itself will freeze, then the rest of the PC will stop responding. Sound will continue playing, and I was in a skype call last time it happened and could continue talking with my friend even while the screens were already locked up.
