i'd like to note for the first post: Note BSOD is prob driiver or hardware not the game.

The latest Driver (amd graphics) started causing the crashing issue for me as well.

I uninstalled all the old drivers & reinstalled the new one & the probliem is now Gone. Except when using Grid Market Bell which is werid.
(As it says your supposed to do everytime with AMD Drivers..... never noticed it said that before but it does now)

    A new Insight for NVidia-Users?

Well, due extensive testing for quiet a Long period of time now, i found out that whenever i Change from anisotropic filtering to just bilinear one, the game no longer crashes. Whenever i Switch back, it is just a question of time for the game to Crash again. That said, the System runs everything i throw at him stable, stress-tests, 3DMark, whatever imaginable.

Maybe SE-Team might take a look into this or communicate it towards NVidia? They already Support this game, so one can hope this gets better :-)

Update: I have Chosen to overwrite anisotropic-settings to 16X via NVidia Settings - not a single Crash, but lovely filtering. If it keeps stable, i will update once again ^^

Do u have Anisotropic setting x16 in Nvidia setting and the same in game settings too or just in the NCP only? Thanks , looking forward to hear your results.

16x anisotropic in nvidia Settings only, but it works in game though there it states that it ís just bilinear filtered - however, it really is 16x anisotropic, textures are crisp and no Crash the whole remaining evening - quiet some time now seems to work.

guys have you tried using msi afterburner lower clocks -20mhz then ramping up power to 120 percent that seemed to fix a lot of black screen lag and bsod problems

I've been running for a long time without any BSOD or crashes now.

Here's what I did (not sure which worked).

1, reinstall windows 7, followed by GPU drivers, followed by ARR.
2, let windows update 1 set of updates at a time and tested ARR after each update. If BSOD/crash still occurred I would run the next set of updates
3, Stopped using anything I thought might be causing the problems, namely Tune Up Utilities and Daemon Tools
4, Once I stopped getting BSOD/crashes in ARR I stopped windows from updating any further as I noticed I seemed to be getting the BSOD/crash after doing a windows update (office update comes to mind).
5, Add new programs one by one testing ARR for a day or so before moving on to the next program

After not having BSOD/crashes for a long time I wanted to clean inside my PC and GPU, after I had done this I booted up ARR and boom! BSOD within 10 seconds. This happened again and again every time I tried to load the game. I decided to reseat my GPU and run the game again and after doing this a couple of times the BSOD/crashes stopped.

Not saying any of this info will help you but it's what I did and something must have worked because I don't get them any more and I was getting them constantly for weeks on end.

Another point: After I got a BSOD/crash in ARR I started getting them when the game wasn't even running, I would be watching a movie, or browsing the web and my PC would lock up and I would get a buzzing sound coming from the speakers; then it would power down. But after doing countless reinstalls of windows I noticed the BSOD/crashes stopped again until I loaded up ARR, then my computer would do the same BSOD and crashing outside ARR until I did a reinstall.

I hope this helps someone as I was nearly in tears with this bullshit and was very close to buying a new GPU so I know your frustration.

I have the same problem.. my computer is fine.. I have done Memtest for more than 10 hours and Prime95 with no problems at all.. my temps never go above 60 C for both parts.

I have all my drivers up to date and 99% of the time my computer BSOD playing FF XIV. I've had a couple of BSOD in other games but 99% of the time is FF XIV and I just can't understand what is going on.

We need some help please.. anything

Exact same problems here, no fix in sight.

I've had the same issues as everyone else, since ARR was released. Random crashes and occasional BSOD. Here's what I've tried that has done nothing at all:
    • Updated graphics drivers
    • Tried old nvidia drivers
    • updated BIOS
    • tried default BIOS settings
    • Reformatted my hard drive
    • Installed Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8 and Windows Vista (none made a difference)
    • Did a memory check, a disk check and a stress test on my GPU
    • Both my GPU and CPU temps never go above 45C
    • I've tried disabling unneccesary Nvidia services
    • Updated my OS completely with Windows Update
    • I've tried fullscreen, windowed, windowed borderless, max settings, minimum settings (on graphics)
    • I've tried using only onboard sound, I've tried using only Nvidia sound
    • I can run any other current-gen game on max settings for hours and have no issues. I'm lucky if I get 30 mins in Final Fantasy: ARR

I've seen several people on here that are adamant that it's not the game causing it, and that a BSOD is hardware, blah blah blah. The blue screens are usually caused by memory errors. Memory errors can ABSOLUTELY be caused by a program, thus causing the BSOD. Somewhere in this game there's poor memory management. The number of people being effected by this is growing daily and there seems to be no fix in sight.

I also tried what Sceros suggested above and that did nothing either.
