Freeze/Crash & BSOD issues

On the voltage on the GPU which i havent tried:

I havent crashed today or yesterday though but i got a BSOD the day before that.
I very rarely get them though, but the BSOD is obviously pointing towards the gpu driver.
I need a custom bios to up my voltage cause Nvidia is annoying that way.. But i risk of screwing up my entire motherboard then, and even if i do get it to work i still risk of frying my graphics card fiddling with voltage which i have no clue about, besides i dont have water cooling so i wonder if i should try it then. Can anyone tell me a safe way to overvoltage/increase voltage on gpu and doing it safely in the process? Edit: I have temperature monitoring programs like realtemp and msi afterburner. The programs show a temp around 45-55c on game on cpu (overclocked 20% by bios auto overclock). And Gpu is around 50-60 max rarely 60 though. I did try turning off the overclock, didnt help. Have formatted and all that :P Ive tried most in earlier posts here.
Have ran prime95 test with overclock, checked ram, and dxdiag shows no errors whatsoever.

Oh yes, and i have unparked cpu I saw that mentioned.

I use 2 4gb ddr3 1333 sticks of ram- I just don't know why the game bsod on a asus gtx 650 but works fine on a gt520 though I did do thermal paste and Un-parked 2 cores.

I stopped using Microsoft security essentials what else, I uninstalled my i3 cores and restarted pc let Microsoft re-install them for me. I reinstalled windows 7 after I formatted harddrive was sick of it even though its just 1 game I looked up c++ heard that can cause bsod kept running Microsoft fix it on netframe and diagnostics on my hard drive and ram which came clean, re-downloaded ffxiv used administrator 1 time just for the install didn't need it for anything else.

I basically did every virus program that was out there, I don't even know if I wanna even put the 650 back into my pc cause it might cause a bsod its been 2 months free bsod maybe its on SE's side with c++ remember this all started when I touched the titan crystal half way loading bsod.

Thanks for the reply Hero; there have been a lot of obscure fixes suggested throughout this thread (modifying voltages, changing graphic settings, etc). Some have reportedly "worked" for some people, but I am not convinced we are on the right path to a proper fix. We shouldn't have to resort to underclocking video cards, disabling cores, and reformatting just to get one game to work (when everything else works otherwise). We need to identify what our issues have in common and establish the potential components which are conflicting with the game.

I have read through all 49 pages of this thread. What I have gathered is that there are a number of issues here, some of which are likely not related, however for those of us experiencing the power cycles and blue screens, there is something going on with this game and our specific hardware configurations. I am quite sure there is some poor code somewhere in the game that is causing this, however I would not expect a solution from SE anytime soon.

As a result, I am going to being replacing hardware until I can find the culprit. Wiping and reinstalling Windows will not fix this problem; the conflicting hardware needs to be replaced until a software/driver fix is implemented.

Here are my current specs:
Core i5 3570k
16GB Corsair DDR3 1600
Corsair HX750 PSU
MSI Geforce 660 TI Power Edition 2GB (Latest nVidia drivers as of January 15, 2014)
Windows 8.0 x64

I will begin by swapping out my video card with a friend's GTX460, using same drivers. If the issue is resolved, that quickly exposes the video card as the faulting/incompatible component. If not, I'll move on the PSU and report back.

It doesn't really matter who is responsible for the problem at this point. SquareEnix, NVidia, the hardware manufacturer... doesn't matter. I just want my game to start working again, without having to replace perfectly fine components.

Is it possible that your game updated wrong and that you have v1.0 in the same folder with v2.1? Maybe it's causing some pathing issues? I have had a few issues with freezing but it looks to be a software/hardware conflict and it happens outside my game too so.....

I would actually like to share how I got the Blue screen of death where it began and what card I was using before and after.

I was using a GT520 gigabyte card had to run on low settings never had a issue but was tired of the lag. So I went and bought a GTX650 2gb gddr5 it worked like a charm I was using a psu 460 at the time.

the card worked I didn't use Overclock feature for card after a couple of days I was on my way to titan crystal I touched the crystal and bam BSOD and then I tried other games and it worked fine but ffxiv nope.

So I uninstalled windows bought a 600 watt psu tried everything removed my card and changed back to my old one and un-parked my cores turned up the bios voltage on first one from zero to +100 and my problems stopped.

I avoided downloading framework 4.5 and kept framework 4.0 and extended 4.0 the same worked also did what I did that I mentioned in other post.

Nope, I had an NVidia card and I replaced it yesterday with an AMD. Same problem.

There have been a few posts in this thread from ATI users as well, however it could be a different cause. The majority seem to be nvidia users with newer series cards.

That being said: yesterday I did a system restore to 4 days before my issues started and so far I have not had any problems. The only changes that were reversed by the system restore were 3 Windows updates and an uninstall of my G930 Logitech headset drivers. I was able to play last night for 3 hours without issue. Usually I can only play maybe 15 minutes. This leads me to believe that either a) a Windows update caused this problem or b) something I did within the game itself corrupted a system or game file, causing the game to crash every subsequent time I tried to play. I am leaning towards option B since the first time it happened, I was playing for about 3 hours, finished Haukke HM and as soon as the cutscene started, the computer shut off.

Sigh, but still.. so many theories but no concrete answers or solutions yet. I am sceptical that my system restore is a permanently solution. If I can get it to happen again, I will report back.

i made a thread about this the other day and also registered for the forums aswell but i forgot about this thread here already but

i'm also been having the crash bsod (ever since the 2.1 update) but my problem file that keeps coming up is dxgmms1.sys which is directx related, i have uninstalled and reinstalled and even installed older drivers and ran all types of tests and still getting the same thing..

all i can think is that its something in the 2.1 update thats conflicting or something hopefully square will fix the problem soon as it sucks to have to p2p but cant really play =.=
