I also tried what Sceros suggested above and that did nothing either.

I said this earlier but: I would love to try that overclock voltage thingy but im scared i might fry the gpu, anyways it said also on other forums it wont help but seeing that it has helped someone here i would have to try but i have no water cooling so i REALLY gotta monitor temps 24/7 :P Ill have to read more about it when i get time, it seems like uf you do something one inch wrong the whole thing can go wrong :/
You would think by this time that they would have fixed these crashes.. And that a new patch like 2.1 might help but nope.. I crashed like 10 times today and its really annoying, it happens outside cities at random i rarely crash in cities. If i knew this i would NEVER have gotten GTX 770. Im amazed that they spend so much focusing on housing in game and not this instead. Well.. atleast in any other game i have no crashes what so ever, but this is the game im playing now so it doesen't help any :P
Sorry for the whine, but ive been having crashes blue screens directx errors everything, c++ runtime error, and this is the first game ive ever had direcx error in or blue screen. Ive been having crashes since after release, in phase 3 and 4 it was no crashes, no blue screens, no errors. It should take 2 weeks to a month for these type of issues to be solved but, i am worried that no fix will come. I know several people who quit cause of this cause they crashed a lot too.

Also having this issue. However, I don't even get a BSoD on my rig; the computer just powers right off, then a few seconds later, boots back up. No error, nothing.
I have been playing this game for months without issue. Nothing changed over the past few days that I can think of, no updates applied, no hardware changes. All of a sudden, I was playing for a couple hours the other night, and the computer rebooted.
I have checked/tried:
- All temperatures (system is watercooled, nothing above 50C)
- Power supply (750W)
- Video card drivers (Geforce 660ti)
- Reinstalled FF14
- Prime95 (passed, 14hrs+)
- Memtest 86 (passed)
- MSI Kombuster (14 hrs+)
- Low graphic settings
- Upping GFX voltage, lowering clock speeds
I am completely stuck at this point. I know my hardware is fine given all the stress testing I completed. I tried rolling back the nVidia drivers, still same issue. The game will load to character selection but as soon as I select a character and the screen finishes loading, computer powers down. If I then reset to default graphic settings (play in a Window), sometimes it crashes right away, sometimes I can play for 15 minutes before it happens again.
I will note that I can play ANY other game, like Farcry 3, Starcraft II, Counterstrike GO, without issue, for many hours. It is ONLY this game that will do this. There has to be some software/driver conflict going on because I have now read countless posts with the same/similar issue. Clearly this frustrating because I see no solution in sight. It is so hard to troubleshoot since I get no error reports of any kind. I'd hate to have to nuke and pave the OS and not have that resolve the issue.
Currently resorted to playing on a crappy laptop until someone can produce a permanent solution. Any further suggestions are always welcome![]()
Part 2 my BSOD started with the gtx 650 I have no clue why but I took it out went back to low end card after I did everything above and my problem is gone.
I got rid of Microsoft security essentials and made sure I didn't have any security updates microsoft had that was faulty.
Also I unparked my cores which seemed to help.
Hey guys, I haven't read all the posts in the thread but here's my suggestion.
I was having the same problem a couple weeks back, and what I did to fix it is simply change the game screen option to : Borderless window, instead of fullscreen. that fixed all my problems...
Again, I'm sorry if that has already been suggested,
Hope it helps.
I have tried running the game in borderless windowed, windowed, full screen... does not seem to matter which mode I use, the issue will still happen. One pattern I have noticed: if I reset the config for FF14 (game launches in Window by default), I can play for about 15 minutes before it will crash. However, every subsequent time I launch the game at that point, it will crash as soon as I finish selecting the character. Only if I reset the config again will I be able to actually log in for about 15 minutes. Very strange. I feel as though something is getting corrupted by software somewhere/driver conflict.
I got the same thing but I fixed my problem.
First thing I did was checked online to see which security updates microsoft had that were bad and also read that Microsoft security essentials was causing computers to BSOD
I then formatted my HardDrive just incase bad sectors.
I checked all cords to see if they were in the right plug slots incase that was the issue using the manual.
Fresh install and I did not download Microsoft security essentials or framework 4.5
I also went into bios and turned my cpu voltage +100 for some reason it auto adjusted back to normal
then install game so far I have not experienced bsod but take note it was after I installed my gtx 650 I went back to my gt 520 low settings same though with the video games everything else worked but game.
Risorial what I said above- I had bsod, I used every program and had zero issues except for ffxiv arr.
Every time I checked EVENT VIEWER I kept checking codes kept saying it was a thermal issue even though my pc was 32c.
So what I did was I removed my Liquid cooling off my Core chip and cleaned off the old thermal paste and used artic silver 5
then I was looking at plugs on my board noticed a 4 slot plug was being plugged in a 3 slot pin so I moved it to the corner that said fan.
I formatted HD did fresh install of windows even though everything worked.
I uninstalled my Chip set and each i3 core let Intel re-install them then after all the updates I ran the install in administrator downloaded dx8 that comes with it. here is another thing I moved all my cords off my USB hub to the back of my computer on those usb slots just incase also the +100 on cpu voltage in bios it was 0 but wanted to see what it would do it defaults and I havent had a problem since.
Also unparked my 2 other cores so I could have 4 cores running.
Does SE even care about this problem? have they replied to this thread at all? curious.
Jyan91, there was a post from a mod early on in the thread saying they will investigate... but honestly, what are they going to investigate? They can't test every hardware configuration... they need error reports, crash dumps, etc. So far, they haven't even asked for this information.
We are on our own to figure out what conflicts and what doesn't. From what I have gathered from this forum and others where the same issue is reported with FF14, the only real fix to the restarts/BSODs is to replace the "faulty" hardware (which seems to be the video card in most cases). I say "faulty" because I think the card is actually fine, but this game is giving instructions that the card cannot handle. Clearly we can only speculate at this point![]()
