Freeze/Crash & BSOD issues

Has anyone experienced the sudden Alt tab to windows desktop? The game doesn't crash, it just force pulls to desktop. On a side note, I used to get actual driver crashes, but moving to the current Nvidia Beta drivers solved that. The only issue I am having right now is the sudden drop to desktop. Other than some FPS issues.

Do you have something plugged in? Like a phone or something? I know if I have my phone plugged in and it disconnects / reconnects it, then it goes to the desktop. If it's not something like that then I don't know unfortunately.

No, I actually blew my voltage regs on my motherboard awhile back and never plugged anything back in after repairs except a set of headphones for 7.1 and an external HDD. It sounds like all the BSOD's and crashes, but it only goes to the desktop.

You can add me to the list. My PC bsod's after anywhere from 1 min. to 15 min. after the latest maintenance update.

I'm running Windows 8 64-bit, Nvidia Geforce GTX 570 gpu, i7 920 cpu, 6gb of 1666mhz corsair dominator ram, and creative x-fi fatality sound card.

The game is causing steam application and gpu drivers to crash. I've tried rolling back drivers, disabling the frame limiter as some have said, same problem. All after last night's updates. Never had the game crash once before last night's updates and I'm on for usually 8-12 hours per day.

I think that's a good thing, not for the new people that are having this issue of course, but for people that have had it for a while. Might mean they will address it sooner. Hopefully...

Just started getting this after the last patch. Have an almost identical setup to OP.

Found an interesting event notification, related? "The EventSystem sub system is suppressing duplicate event log entries for a duration of 86400 seconds."

Seriously, SE, how are you consistently making this game worse?

Not sure why, but the cmd isnt working for me, so I followed the guide and did everything it did. Lets hope for the best!

Do you get any kind of error or just nothing happens? When I first tried it I did it in wrong place and received an error, but then it worked when I did it where the Inspector was installed.

I have yet to have another crash/freeze since I started using that(as long I remembered to use it before starting ). It's a crude bandage for me, but I'll take it while waiting for a proper solution.

It says it isn't in the right location, but I don't know what to do to make it the correct location. I know where the inspector folder is, so do I open cmd there?

EDIT: Ok I got it to work for me, at least I think I did. I ran the command you use, and it popped up a option to run it, so I did of course. Now that I have doe that, do I even need to run Nvidia Inspector, or am I good to go from here? Also when do I have to use this command, is it every time I turn on my computer, or whenever I want to play? I'll post the results on whether this fixes my crash later on!
