Freeze/Crash & BSOD issues

I too have experienced BSD during a simple gaming session, no party no different situation,

Intel i7 3.4 gHz
8 gbts ddr3 133 ram,
Windows 7 home
Nvidia Gtx 550

Problem is still there for me. What makes it so hard to find out what is going wrong is that it seems completely random. Prior to the latest patch and server fixes I had a day where I played pretty much all day, left the program running even when not in use while watching youtube videos etc and not a single system crash. Day of patch I get two but then it's fine for the rest of the evening. Today every session is crashing my computer. It doesn't appear to be a heat issue as my CPU and GPU have run hotter for longer playing other games during the heatwave here in the UK. Doesn't seem like my OC is affecting anything as it's stable with every other videogame and has been stable for years now (this is really the only BSOD error I've reliably gotten. I don't even get a BSOD btw. I just freeze with audio still playing and unable to do anything. Only thing that makes me assume it's a BSOD error is one time I turned my computer back on and it said there was an unexpected shutdown due to a BSOD or something).

Seems very very odd as Phases 3 and 4 were absolutely flawless and I played phase 4 to death. Leaving it on all day, playing it constantly. No hitched or errors at all. Then Early access arrive with it's patch and now we're getting these crashes. I'm on an Nvidia GTX 285 with the latest (non-beta) drivers and a core i7 920 2.67 overclocked to 3.5GHz which has no problems with any other programs or games. Heat doesn't seem an issue either s like I said, FFXIV runs cooler than some games I was playing for longer during the heatwave here.

I run FFXIV in a 1600x900 window at mid-high settings. I did try turning everything to lowest and I still crashed but I will try again later/tomorrow and monitor for a few days (because I may just get a good day like I do now).

6 crash to desktops and 1 bsod so far just today. Weird thing is I never had any of this happen until after the 1gb patch.

I log on and I may get ok game play with a tiny bit of lag for a bit, or it may happen right away.
Freezes up for a while ( maybe huge fps drop )
Lags for a bit and delays everything ( server lag )?
Or crash.
NONE OF THIS HAPPENED BEFORE 10 HOUR MAINTENANCE AND THAT PATCH. It ran bloody perfectly. Just had a hard time logging in.

Your issue sounds like server lag, doesn't look like the same issue we are experiencing. May want to start a new thread and put in a ticket.

My latest FFXIV crash/BSOD showed up in event viewer as attributed to the game...first time that's happened, it had been a kernel error 41 before that. Here's what it said:

As with everyone else, temps are good, stress tests and mem tests turn out normal and I've tried every fix I hear about to no avail. Really hoping SE deals with this soon, it's only been happening for me since the big server upgrade patch and now that I can log in consistently, I'd love to play for more than 5min-1hr at a time...

I've also had a couple of crashes like this, I didn't get any crashes until very recently. I had changed my wireless adapters setting multimedia/gaming environment to true in the device manager advanced settings, in hopes of a better performance. I changed it back to to disabled and haven't had any crashes so far. Though I'm still a little sceptic whether that really was it, could be just good luck, but so far it's been good.

They just said that 3 days ago. Give it a couple weeks to a month, this isn't something you fix in a day....
