I still think some work needs to be done. After the last maintenance the PC client runs better on my laptop or it could be the fact that it's Sunday going into Monday. If that's the case than they really need to beef up the servers.
Outside of the game being generally unplayable for many and down as much as up so far...
The game is incredibly generic. The questing is mindless and easy. It's the same thing as any WoW clone made even more generic and easy. Everything about this game is simplified beyond the already simple WoW clone template, at least initially.
A game doesn't need to be complex to be good, obviously, but there needs to be something going on that presents challenges and causes any measureable brain activity? No...gaming that's on par with watching TV is desired? I weep.
The game has potential that can't be measured right now since you can barely play. A in, hopefully it gets better the further in you get because cute and easy really doesn't cut it.
Calling this the greatest game ever seems both premature and pretty much silly.
You must not play very many games and/or you have very low standards and expectations.
People should realize leveling is completely mindless compared to FFXI/even WoW, when they notice you just hop from fate to fate while you ignore quests typically and hardly try to even think other than pressing an AoE key.
I'm astonished they even had the balls to make EXP more like WoW/GW2 than its own predecessor but obviously when the path of least resistance to 50 is just popping some aoes on fate mobs then you can't expect much thrill.

Agreed! Keep up these positive forum posts, people are so negative for NO REASON! We can only go up and I did not wait years for this to come out just to bitch and leave in 24 hours of rough server stuffLOVE ARR! Keep it up Yoshi and team, appreciate all that you do for us!

Combat-wise, hear a lot of melee complaining about 2.5 GCD, but since I play mages, no complain here
Used Duty Finder without problem to complete all the Light Party quests, and used it to finished the first dungeon Sastas (??), it was great fun!
There are so many stuff to do, and so many classes to play, the cross-class skills make these even more exciting!
Many may complain this game is easy, but I read somewhere that this is intentional, to ease-in more FF series fan who may likely be totally new to MMO. Still, there are several quests where if you don't read carefully and don't follow what the NPC says, you will end up losing for sure. I am only lv18, so I look forward to a more challenging gameplay later on
I read all the quest-texts, and love the story thus far.
Voice-Over side, I use JP voice-over with EN subtitles, as JP voice-over is usually much better

I want this game to be good. I really do. But they've stripped out every bit of difficulty and made it as boring as possible. I can't lower my standards to the point where I'll accept being able to go afk against bosses and come back relatively unhurt. That isn't fun or exciting.Agreed! In addition to quest battles needing to be more difficult, all content with level syncs needs to only allowing being 1 or so levels above the level sync. Not +3. Right now higher level players (including all legacy characters) can blow through content, defeating the (very important) purpose of level syncs. Whatever mechanics they have in place to scale FATEs to numbers is not working. They are often a mess and unplayable, with no intelligence required.
Btw, just accepting whatever the dev team puts out hurts the game in the long term. You are not doing your job as participating players at guiding them towards what is fun.

You'd be surprised at some of the fun other fights can have. I assume you're referring to the golem or demon fights around level 15, because if you just stand around for "Keeping the Oath", the final PLD fight, you're going to die.
Difficulty and whatnot seems to scale at a decent pace. If you're a seasoned MMO veteran, then it's going to feel easy at first, but I think they know what they're doing when it comes to making fun content.
We have to remember, this is still the same team that made the "United We Stand" and "To Kill a Raven" fights for the 7th Umbral storyline. I think they're gonna do just fine.

I wish I had your optimism. The thing is that this is also the team that has undone the job artifact quests, which were great opportunities for decent party challenge, and is now making a MMORPG with an audience that is very different from who they were aiming at during the 1.19-1.23 updates. Perhaps the end-game content will be alright, but I put no real hopes on the main scenario.

I just got out of the new Dzemael Darkhold (level 44 dungeon). Don't worry, things get more difficult and in the best of ways.I wish I had your optimism. Signed. Best game ever. Serious.
Landed in Tonberry during P4, there were too many people, and surprisingly no lag! But just too many people for my taste, because FATE quest becomes too easy when there's too many players. Created characters starting in Ul'dah and Limsa Limosa.
Then during EA, decided to try out legacy server Masamune for fewer newbie rush, created a CNJ starting in Gridania...Ooooohhhhhh~~~the beauty...the music is so good, the scenery is marvelous, the owner of adventurer guild and leader of Twin Adder are both gorgeous too! Gridania forever!!!!
