I don't remember there being many server issues with the 1.0 launch, but perhaps that's more a social commentary on our lack of attention spans as a population. People are freaking out about this now, but in a few weeks, when they're enjoying the game (if they haven't quit over these issues...), we won't even be talking about it. If we do, it'll be along the lines of, "Well, that wasn't fun."

I would argue that this isn't the same problems as 1.0. Actually, quite the opposite. 1.0 was not a good game. We knew it from open beta, and we knew it at launch. 2.0, on the other hand, is a great game and very enjoyable... if you could actually just ENJOY it. By the time the 90000 error was permanently fixed for me and I was ready to progress, the duty finder was almost constantly down. It was frustrating but instead of sitting around and venting ingame or offgame, I just logged out and went about my own business. "I'll just go to sleep. It'll be fixed by tomorrow..."

Now I'm awake. I see no point in raging (what good does that do?) but I am a bit worried. This game is having so many issues because of a server overload... which is funny (in a sad way) because it's the success of the game that is causing these issues. I don't want people to quit, but if SE doesn't get these issues under control soon, they're going to be labeled as having another 'bad' launch. It's sad... because 2.0 is a game I feel comfortable standing behind. They worked so hard to remake this game and now the server issues are making it almost unplayable for some (well, if you want to do anything instanced... which is a lot of solo quests).

I don't think SE anticipated just how many people would be playing this game. They should've had more NA/EU servers, especially Legacy ones. A lot of newer players want to start and play with their friends (who are all 'locked' on a Legacy server), which is causing congestion/fullness in logins. I have my fingers crossed that these issues are worked out soon because I know if they are, the people complaining now will just forget about it and enjoy the game. If they aren't worked out soon, people will continue to get frustrated and end up quitting altogether. In my experience, it's harder to get someone to come back than to keep them in the first place.
