I just don't understand how JP hasn't had any problems, but NA/EU hasn't made it one day since Phase 4 without severe problems

Well 90% of the testing was done on JP servers, my guess would be that they did not test the US/EU hardware out enough before releasing, they definitely never had Alpha style stress testing like the JP Alpha servers had..

I bought a game I would have had for free, just to get early access, and it's been nothing but flaws.

I don't care if the first 5 pages in the GD is nothing but people complaining about the errors, this is ridiculous.

Common sense would also imply that we would get more servers to compensate.

Yes adding more would help but you also will need people on the current server to move to the other server to help balance it out but not many ppl will want to start all over and that a large reason why we still have congestion. Know if they had a transfer character option to be able to move your non legacy because legacy people are pretty much stuck on legacy servers this would also help if their even has this option atm don't know.
