I was dealing with this same issue for the last 2 hours and I actually had to do a system restore on my pc. Following the restart, my launcher updated to the most recent patch and the game worked like new! I hope this works for others that might still be having this issue.

Mine's a bit more specific than OP, but I'm experiencing it as well

Had just logged in, switched over to GSM and took the Aethernet to the Goldsmith Guild in Ul'dah and the game crashed. Now, everytime I log into that character, it crashes during the loading screen. I can log into my other characters just fine, but they're on different servers / zones.

Sadly for most of you its a heating issue. If I start the game up and forget to turn my fan up on my GPU I crash. There is a lot of stress on the video cards which will make them heat up and cause you to crash or BSOD. I would suggest getting some kind of program so you can turn up your GPU fan. If you have a nvidia card use EVGA Precision tool. Not sure what AMD cards use just google it. Good luck to you all of you hope this helps


Note: also if you haven't cleaned your PC out for a few months do so. Dust mites are terrible for heating issues

Alright, so just tried going to Ul'dah on one of my other characters and immediately crashed there as well. I'd imagine part of my download is corrupt.

Anyone know which one of the data files is the one for Ul'dah so I can just redownload that one?
