Gamepad bug is pissing me off. --Logitech Rumblepad 2

Calibrating this has been hell on earth. I CORRECTLY assign the right buttons but for some damn stupid reason the game reads my calibration and incorrectly assigns the wrong mappings to buttons.

For example: Start/Select is L3/R3. Square is X. X is Triangle etc. Only mappings that seem to be correctly assigned are the DPAD/Analog/Shoulder buttons.

Is your controller in x-input or D-input mode? Try X-input if you haven't.

I have the same gamepad.... after looking into it a bit it looks like our controllers are outdated. New games only use X-input type which assign the scheme differently. There are programs out there though that modify the controllers input from D to X. Examples are TocaEdit and x360ce. The x360ce seems like the more accepted choice and vaguely remember using something like it for Skyrim when I had to adapt my controller to it (since they only use x360 controllers for the game).

Edit: The rumblepad 2 doesn't have that switch. Our only option are emulator programs. Or if SE decides to include D-Input.

Edit 2: Looking further into it seeing how these work, some games consider this a ban-able offence it seems so I'd probly not use them till a Mod tells us otherwise. The controls aren't that screwed up to where we have to use it anyways. Just takes getting use to, which I've done for the most part.

Controllers have different input modes. At least my logitech f510 has a switch under it that switches it between x-input and d-input modes.

But I didn't have this problem in Phase 3 beta...why is it screwy now?!

I had the problem in Phase 3 for a weekend, then it went away after patch, and came back in Phase 4. After looking more into it, it sounds like D-Input can be pushed in alongside with X-Input through a "simple" code.

This page from Microsoft explains it, and sounds like we're missing that code for this version of the game. Only explination I can think of, of why it would work in a previous version, and not now. Looks like it would be really simple on SE's end to do this but meh.

the xinput1_3.dll inside the lib zip goes into the same folder as ffxiv.exe
the x360ce.gdb can go either in that same folder or in c:\programdata\x360ce\
Then you use x360ce.exe (from the x360ce-app zip) to create the config or import the config file from the online database.
