    Say Yell Shout

From what I am seeing from the chat, 99% of the people talk in shout mode (bronze-ish font) instead of normal say mode (white font).

But there is no way to make it stick automatically shout, is that correct?

Or am I doing something wrong?

No, there's no way to change chat mode to shout or yell because it's annoying lol. When you use shout, everyone in the entire zone can hear you, when you use yell, everyone even in surrounding zones can hear you (this might not be 100% correct, but close enough for my point). They make it so you have to manually make it shout/yell so that everyone doesn't accidentally type stuff in these modes, and to dissuade people from over using them. Sure, the occasional shout conversation can be interesting, but for the most part, if people wanted to hear your conversations, they'd be in your Linkshell.

Honestly, it's not that annoying, it's just a makeshift general that since there IS no general chat for people to ask questions and other things. You can always go into chat and turn shout off if you really can't ignore things in your chat =P

It's one of those things that you don't want to have to hide to save yourself from the few idiots that abuse it though. I like seeing shouts, regardless of what they're for, it connects you to the players around you, I just hate it when a select few get stupid with them lol.

I understand the annoyance factor. But it seems like every message I get is in bronze color font (shout). I can't imagine everyone I've encountered type /shout before they type their message?

Yell sticks for me, when I select Yell a little tick appears by the side of it as does when I select LS or Party etc. Shout doesn't do this though, as you said there is no way to make it stick. I rarely use yell though, but prefer to use shout for some reason, maybe cos everyone else does!

Okay for all of you that are annoyed there is an easy way to stop the SHOUTS AND YELLS! Down next to the little chat window on the botrtom right of it there is a + symbol and a gear symbol, if you click the gear symbol you can turn on or off what chat elements pop up in the current chat window, What I did was added a new chat window named it SHOUT made it only show the shouts and turned off the shout element in my normal chat window. simple as that.

I might have got some of the elements of how to do it a bit off but I don't have the UI in front of me and forgot exactly where the buttons were, If this thread is still popular and it is a real issue ffor some people when the game come back up I'll post a Pic tutorial on how to shut shouts off and put them into their own chat window

I don't think people are complaining about seeing shouts, the OP was asking if there was a way to sticky shout instead of having to manually select it every time they wanted to talk in Shout!
