    More EU servers needed

There has been a lot of problems with acccess all over the servers, but it seems to be acute on the EU ones.

Why is that? My guess is because there are so few of them. Count them. EU in total has SIX servers (including 1 legacy server. Compare that to the NA servers, of which there are NINETEEN (4 legacy) and the japanese who are TWENTY-FIVE.

There is also a problem of language. EU is not mono-linguistic, and I would advice having at least one server each for german speaking players, and one for french players, is a necessity.

If you are English speaking, you are just as well to play on a US server, they are all in Montreal anyhow, so latency is the same. If you are not English native, then I can understand why you'd want some more EU servers

Agreed. We definitely need more servers. I sharn't agree with having 1 server for each language zone as part of the whole concept of FFXIV is the cross-nation play (though I will admit that whether this is 1. viable or 2. worth it is up for question).

We definitely need more servers. I would also like to suggest a free server transfer for people on the fully populated servers in case they wish to join their friends who were unable to get onto the same server. Seeing how new all the servers are, there is no economy to worry about crashing and as these will be new servers we're moving onto, there will be little to no issues with duplicate names and the such.

6 servers for all of europe is no where near adequate.. and seeing as some of my friends who tried to join Moogle mear moments after I did are still trying to get onto Moogle.. it's ending up being a terrible fiasco with getting people together. Heck we even tried to move to shiva and moments after one friend made a character there, the rest of us couldn't.

    When I check using some tools like netstat, I'm seem to be connected to 199.91.189.22 (seems to be Phoenix EU);

    Code:
     TCP 192.168.1.100:54013 199.91.189.22:55029 ESTABLISHED
    [ffxiv.exe]
     TCP 192.168.1.100:54014 199.91.189.22:55029 ESTABLISHED
    [ffxiv.exe]
Location info on that IP: http://www.iplocation.net/?query=199.91.189.22

    Code:
P Address	Country	Region	City	ISP
    199.91.189.22	Canada	Quebec	Montreal	Eidos
So if you live in Europe, don't really think it matters if you join EU or NA servers... Pretty sure the NA servers are also located in Canada.

I live in Holland and I get 100ms connection with Phoenix atm, is not bad...

Yeah they're all located in Canada, the issue is that most are aimed for NA timezone play while only 5(6) are aimed at the European time zone...

Indeed, the time difference is too big for me. I need an EU server that is open, atm i cannot create a new character on an EU server at all. I can't even get into the game with my beta character neither even though i don't plan on playing that char.

I don't remember last time a MMO launched smoothly and i expect there will be a few minor problems. But i do expect to be able to atleast create a character and log into the game ONCE before the "early access" is over -_-'

Update: Wohoo! I finaly managed to create a character

Congrats! out of curiosity, which server did you manage to get onto? Just curious in regards to whether my friend has any hope of joining us during early access
