how to craft and gather?

I cant find any explanation about this matter. I would like to craft and gather items but i dont know how. Can somebody explain this to me or send an link with an explanation perhaps?

I am a FF14 noob, so don't take this for gospel, but I believe that gathering and crafting is leveled similarly to how you level a class. You have to join the guild, get the gear, do quests and gather/craft.

1st get to level 10 of your stating class
then do you level 10 class quest

then you can join other guilds
go to the one you want to join
the start that guild quest line

each city-state has different guilds
so you may need to to more of the main quest to get the airship pass , to go to other city-sates
if the one you want is not in your starting city-state

Yeah, this. Then when crafting, you need to have your crafting tool equipped. Then you open up the crafting log and look at the things you want to make. They have requirements, like the materials you need. Then you will have actions, like when battling, that you use to craft the item you selected.

Seems kind of complicated, reading the above walkthrough, but really it isn't. Once you unlock it, everything should make sense.

They are used for crafting.

EVERY craft uses crystals of different elements. Shards, Crystals and Clusters depending on the level of the craft
