Immense Delay?

So I'm not sure if this has been answered or not, or if it relates to all the server mishaps going on. Ever since phase 4 started and I kept getting connection errors, I've been having immense delay/lag everywhere. It's not my computer, it's not my connection, I was completely fine in phase 3 and all other programs are doing their internet-connected jobs properly. But this...this game!

Here's a rundown:
- NPCs take up to 5 minutes to load, meaning I just have to stand there and wait before I can turn in a quest or use the airship.
- Skills and actions are delayed. Up to five minutes or longer after using a skill, emote, etc., does everything actually happen (at least on my screen. I apparently emoted at the right time on a friend's, but delayed on mine.)
- Hitting a key to bring up a menu does not bring up the menu right away, and if it does, the contents do not show right away.

This is extremely frustrating for a game I am going to be paying for |:

Welcome to Beta Phase 5. The Servers are currently on Limited Login Restrictions due to High Volumes of Traffic.
This means that the servers will be slow and unresponsive.

Count yourself Lucky you are even on as most players are getting 1017 error which means the servers are full.
And every time they retry to connect it hits the server with a ping slowing it down more as it says "I am Full"

Your lag is just a by product of a larger issue. Should clear up once they fix the Congestion they caused by Putting NA/EU on the same Datacenter.

I've had this issue since Phase 4 started :/ My brother who is literally 15 feet away from me on the same connection, same server, is running the game flawlessly.

is your brother on another PC or PS3? PC specs any different?

I had Zero issues with Lag/Slowdown in Beta 2/3 but in phase 4 there was alot of lag caused by Congestion. So i Upgraded my PC. and i still have lag issues when i am in congested areas but i can now play on Maximum...
Check background programs as well. FFXIV doesn't enjoy Skype running at the same time. every time someone talks i get a lag spike. C3/Team-speak work fine. could be any number of issues but i am willing to bet it is still the congestion from server.

another PC, but better specs. but this isn't the sort of lag that happens because of hardware... background programs didnt really do much before either. hopefully this maint tonight fixes it then...
