Forcing everyone to craft, Is it good direction for FFXIV?

due to the awful repair NPCs, limited repairing up to 75% with unacceptable price... everyone feel like get forced to craft, at least few classes to repair their own gear even someone just want to play the game as fighters but they can't

do you think they should keep forcing people to craft or change something like... repair NPC can do it up to 90%, can repair accessories, reduce the cost, allow the crafter guys at each camp be able to repair, etc

if you cant find someone to repair, you are doing something wrong

you dont need to be self sufficient
and if you dont want to pay for repairs, you are cheap

I don't do much crafting as is at the moment. Even in my LS, we all have a dedicated crafter for each class. You don't need to craft if you have good connections

I do free weaver repairs. If I can't fix something myself, I wait till I have to go to work. Before I leave I put what I need repaired in bazaar and just leave my character by repair NPC. Everything is fixed by the time I get home. If I don't want to wait I shout.

Doesn't really force you to craft, but damn is it a hell off alot cheaper to make you own things then buying it from the rip-offwards. Seriously 50k for a Velveteen robe? I could make millions of those for free, because every leve gives me cotton bolls.

you dont need to be self sufficient
and if you dont want to pay for repairs, you are cheap

- I have to buy 3-4 weapons to rotate them; equip 1, reserve 1 and another 2 in retainer waiting someone who I don't know when he'll come to fix them

- yeah, my weapon is 200,000 gil and the NPC ask for 47k to repair it, repair it 4 times I can buy a new weapon

- can you expect your friends will be appear in front of you everytime you want to repair it?

a quick shout for that repair will yield you amazing results, just offer 5k gil, seriously, youll get it pretty quick usualy
alot cheaper then 47k
people who dont ask, will not recieve, easy as that, cant expect everyone to just check you and hope for the best

MMo are not for you OP. All you do is hate on WoW on here or whine. I wouldn't even repair for you if I was the only crafter on the game and we had np repair npc.

Repair npc are pricey for a reason its really the only gil sink. once they add more stuff that requires constent gil (chocobo travel and other stuff) they may lower the fees.

Which is good thing as well. ._. what so bad about it. >_> You are playing in an MMO, there bound to be ppl who would be your friend and he's a crafting maniac. i have two friend from western and asian, who are Crafting maniacs and i had no problems in repairing nor getting some good items from them :P
