GIL Sellers Are on The Rise

Those RMT are persistant and will find a way to disrupt the game by uniting and hording key essential areas needed to complete certain Missions, Quests, and other tasks!
They will do what ever it takes to Make a single dollar of real currency!
It got so out of control on FFXI that I finally left after 5 years because it was taking months to do a successfull party armor upgrade run because all the paid RMT parties was hording the areas!
Linkshells were always breaking up mainly for the same reason unsucessfull runs caused by those RMT's.
OK so Gill it self has no value but they will eventually find something that has value and will do every thing possible preventing you from getting it!
I just dont like the help desk program it should be able to auto link the server,Area, and time and all you should have to do is type the name of the character and what was said!
We sould not have to type all that area stuff!
Please upgrade this!

In the time SE lets them do ther thing, SE also tracks and bans supporters. When they got heavy on XI the amount of banned gil buyers sky rocketed.

Exactly what he said, I played FFXI for 10 years, I remember all the mass bans, one time they deleted several hundred RMT and billions of gil with them lol, just give them time, they do handle it

I have a total of 12 spamers on my Blist right now. And some of the names you can tell they are just going to delet that name an make a new one. heres a example of the type of names im seeing (Nnrvjxtn Tjqix) now this is one i just made up but for the most part thats what they look like so if you report them an the GM or Dev dosent respond fast enough. they have deleted there old name an made a new one. If im Wrong then sry. was just thinking of how they could get around it if not caught fast enough.

Not putting it in because you might blacklist the wrong person is nothing short of retarded. If it says "Would you like to report <name> for spam?" and you confirm it even if it's the wrong person, you're retarded as well.

Edit: And this goes without saying, but here it is anyways: Selling in game currency is a business. They do it to make money IRL as anyone does with any job. They make it, they market it, and people buy it. They will never go away until people stop buying from them and they stop making any money from it. So remember the next time you see their spam, that they're doing so because your fellow players are keeping them in business.

You could just add a "Copy Name" to the click menu. That would be useful for many things not just blacklisting. (Obviously we would need a "paste" function as well.)

i'd like it if blacklist actually blocks them from sending tells to me too, i'm 100% sure i blacklisted a gil seller (he /tell me out of nowhere, after blacklist i received another from him a while later)

Once request I would make, when someone's name appears in chat log from a tell or shouts. We are able to select the name on chat log and take actions like send tell, invite to party, I would really love to see a blacklist option there for these RMT. It was a hassle the other night to stop every 5 mins to go to my black list and type in someone's name. I have multiple RMT on my blacklist now, one spammed me 6 times in a 30 min period when I went afk for dinner. I blacklisted him also, and I have reported each one. If its going to be a hassle to blacklist them, at least give us a fast blacklist option?

As others have said, blacklist is just a band-aid solution. GET THIS: I know someone who named their character "Square Enix" and made it about 3 days after launch before SE forced a name change. In light of that I removed several people from my blacklist and guess what? They are still spamming cities and zones! SE takes action against naming -- but have no procedures directly related to Gil Sellers. Or anyone spamming! We don't want a band-aid solution. We want to see results. Create an EASY way to report with screenshot attached and start banning accounts including the credit card used.

With that said, I have no doubt that SE is tackling ideas and we will eventually get a fix. SE: make history again and implement the next gen defense against Gil Sellers. Not only will their constant spamming create an irritating experience constantly having to blacklist newly made characters (and delete as we approach the BL cap), but as we all know Gil Sellers AND Buyers ruin the in-game economy. No economy = SE sitting on a second failed FFXIV.

Last night over the course of 2 hours, I was spam-tell'd with about 5 or 6 gil sellers on Balmung. This REALLY needs to be cracked down on, as it's getting to the point I can't have a conversation with my FC because we're all being spammed by this crap

I've been seeing the sellers, but I'm not sure why. Whats the point of buying Gil? I use mine for almost nothing already. Even with repairs, and continuous teleports and my count keeps going up. I have yet to find any real REASON to spend it on the Market...
