FFXIV's content vs FFXI's ?

How come FFXI is getting so much more, cooler, actual content than FFXIV?

They are redesigning everything here, from UI to Battle System, we can't expect the same amount of content than a game that has nothing to fix...

I for one going back to FFXI next month, I try out wow and dislike it and am not trying out Rift lol. So going to go back to FFXI and maybe level up BST seeing how i have 80cooking i can make my own jugs. I be trying to see what world to join for FFXIV and stay there to things get better i don't mind being low level seeing how thing going to change anyways.

So going to pay 1month of FFXI and wait for big change in FFXIV seeing how i can't stand logging in ffxiv for more then 1hour. I used to play FFXIV for 8-15hours but that when i had some good friend playing now there over at FFXI so may as well play ffxi too ffxiv get better.

they can't add anything till the battle system is changed. And since they are doing a complete rehaul it will take time. I do suggest you go play ffxi or another game a while. Let them do what is needed. Its not easy for them to work in the conditions they are in, dimmed light and no AC.

Not everything is connected to the battle system.

they could for example, fix the terrains, add landmarks instead of the bopring camps and even more boring nodes.
they can unlock chocobos, airships, add new crafting quests, add new gear, beautify the cities, merge all shopping wards, optimize UI for keyboard/mouse user and so on

I can't tell if this is a joke or not. Because the first 6 months of FFXI were a bunch of fixes that players asked for. The implementation of an AH, NM's, and a few Player Community Events. Which is exactly what we've had in XIV (Ward Updates, NM's, Events.) but in XIV we also had an entire new Quest system introduced with promises of more and more of them being added as patches release.

Exactly. FFXI launched in a very bad state, and nothing much bigger than what we saw here has been implemented in the first few months. The big content influx started later, when the basics of the games were somehow fixed.

It is kind of a hard topic to discuss with all the dramatic changes, but at least the dungeon style features have been being looked into from they're list of posts, found myself playing alot of other games to fill the time after i hit 50 and explored enough , i took my time getting 50 so i generaly am only doing 2 or 3 hours a day anymore untill there is some long term goals and instanced events.
