Continue Main Quest or...

ATM my main quest is introducing me to the various starting cities. Now should I be leaving the quests in those cities alone to level up other classes when the time comes or am i going to wind up finding that I need to do all those quests in each city to progress with my main class?

Really glad you came here to ask because I did in the beta forum but no on answered. ^^; That's alright though. You should leave those quests undone and just follow the main storyline + any level appropriate quests you find along the way. You want to leave them because those quests are extremely good boosts for leveling other classes. It's difficult just starting out with a new class, the easy 5 levels from those bundle of running around quests make things much easier.

I'm not sure that it really matters, from what I was reading...Since you get bonus XP for fighting/FATEs for all secondary jobs depending on how high your main level is, so one could argue that by doing all the quests possible on your main (assuming the XP is worth it), you'll level up faster and therefore when you go to level up your secondary job(s), it'll have more bonus XP.

On the other hand, you could argue that a level 15 doing a level 3 quest would give little to no XP and be more valuable for starting....

So the question is how much XP do those low level quests give for a high level job?

The amount of XP the city quests give you is abysmal, you can get more XP from a single ladybug. Thanks for telling about the XP raise, been wondering why my CNJ gets +50% from all monster kills. Also most level 10 FATEs have given 2k+ xp from gold medal while I could swear my main got much lower amounts at same levels.

Ah, yeah I thought about it after I posted, the XP would probably be better set for the low levels. 2k xp for a lvl 10 fate is about double what I was getting, so you're right. and a 50% increase is pretty good! What lvl is ur main?
