[Question] Will we ever be able to ride Chocobos/Airships?

My theory is SE is keeping chocobos, airships and Ishgard for the PS3 launch so that the PS3 players have something new to look forward to. Who knows, with the delay they might even release an expansion at this time with new regions and base classes like musketeer, arcanist and shepherd that are supposed to be coming too.

In the meantime I suggest you all level a DoL to 30 to get the tier 5 speed ability. It makes running around a lot easier. Gridania to Tranquil for example you can get 3.5-4 minutes of constant quickening. If you're an archer you can use that Quickstride ability before you're out of range of grade 1 points and when you're in range of grade 3 to ensure you have quick on almost the whole route. Just one example.

Even if its just a morsel, I would really like to have some kind of hint as to what role the chocos will have and when we will see them, thats all i ask. Believe me I understand there is a myriad of tasks at hand before we see any form of game content add ons but please. just a morel

Well they already have the actually places built(and made I am guessing) they are probably just waiting for a big patch release or maybe till the PS3 release is my guess. Though I think if they add even one of those, people would start comming back, not in full numbers at all, but in smaller increments. The FFXIV needs some more of the classic FF elements to start having more people come back as well as join. (also needs the PS3 release cause I know a lot of people waiting on that xD)

I recommend anyone who loves Chocobos and plays this game, who hasn't seen the R30 Leatherworker Quest yet, to watch this video. I nearly had an orgasm last night from the awesome~ness of Ishgardian soldiers riding their war birds into battle.

On a side note, I don't want to come off by sounding cynical, but a part of me believes that we don't have things like Chocobos and Airships, and all this other wonderful content yet is due to the fact that the game is still free to play. It's going to probably stay that way too until they get all the essential problems fixed in time before moving onto new things.

I don't really see any other explanation. It's probably in storage waiting to be activated and implemented into the game in time for us to pay. In time for the PS3 launch when everything is up to snuff and ready to move the ball forward. That's at least my understanding from the lack of major content advancements.

But the other part of me says, to increase the user-base and encourage people to keep playing is to add Chocobos, Airships and open up new things to keep people coming back for more and be willing to pay knowing that they have something to look forward too. Again, I see anything remotely like this happening after that gargantuan adjustments to the game that the dev team has planned. I may be wrong, or I may be somewhat right. I don't care. I actually hope I'm wrong and they come out sooner. I just want my Chocobo.

I'm afraid that they're holding chocobos and airships as a last resource, if the revitalization of the game fails. I hope not :S

Chocobos would bring so many people to the game and it would be a MAJOR help
