I sent a ticket (when early release started) for this same issue with a very detailed description of what the issue was and all the things I'd tried to resolve the issue. I got a response yesterday. It reads as follows:

"Dear Customer,

Regarding your request for technical support. Please find your answer below.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It will be forwarded to the appropriate party. We are not aware of there being any trouble or problems in this game like you are describing, although we are not doubting your claim. Please attempt to continue trying to resolve the issue locally while we report this issue to development and management. Thank you for taking the time to contact us today and we look forward to your opinions of our upcoming titles.

Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center."

So, apparently, no one at Square Enix has a fix and, in fact, no one has any idea this is even a problem, despite this thread and multiple threads on other sites. My guess is that we will be waiting a long time before we see this addressed.
