Save Hotbar/Gear Sets on MULTIPLE computers

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible to retain/save your hotbar configuration so it will be the same on any computer you use to login and play FFXIV? I play on my laptop in bed and then my main computer, as well... however, whenever I move actions around in my hotbar on my laptop - the changes will not show up when I use my main computer to play... its like it is saved locally? Not sure if there is a setting or a way around this, but it can get really frustrating... on top of this, none of my saved gear sets are saved across multiple machines... Anyone else notice this? Any help would be appreciated.

It's saved in the ARR folder in MyGames

If you are using Windows, under My Documents - My Games - FFXIV A Realm Reborn there will be a folder for each character that starts with FFXIV_CHR. Inside that folder will be several files, including:
ACQ.DAT (no idea what this file is)
ADDON.DAT is addons/UI config
COMMON.DAT contains info about nameplates, chat colors, which hotbars are shown (or maybe which ones are linked, not sure)
CONTROL1.DAT and CONTROL2.DAT are the control schemes for keyboard/gamepad
GEASRSET.DAT is your saved gearsets
HOTBAR.DAT is your saved hotbars
KEYBIND.DAT is your saved keybinds
MACROS.DAT is your saved macros
LOGFLTR is your Log Filters for the chat box

Just copy those files from one computer to the other to copy all the settings.

You have to copy the files before running the game or they get overwritten it seems like. Works great though and saves so much time!

Thanks for help guys. Was able to copy/replace existing files on my other machine and it worked perfectly. I also just 'shared' the folder on my home network, so it is easier/quicker to update. Thanks again

Ive tried to do this and it fails to bring over the hotbars. It does do the shared hotbars but not the regular ones. Can someone test this out on their machine. I feel like either this doesnt work anymore or something is up on my machine.

Not longer needed. There is a backup and restore feature on the character log in screen.

Some people will still find this useful. The backup/restore feature is limited to once per day.



For automatic, real-time settings sharing between two computers, you can copy your character settings folders (FFXIV_CHR################) to a syncked directory (such as in Dropbox) and create a symlink on each computer using the command prompt:

mklink /J "D:\Dropbox\XIV Settings" "C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn"

Then each computer will treat "D:\Dropbox\XIV Settings" as the game settings directory; and any time one of the computers updates the files, your cloud service will sync the files.

This still works. Keep in mind that for "Hotbar 1", there are actually 30-some Hotbar 1s. There is one for each class, one for each job, and one marked Share. If they don't seem to be transferring, it could be a matter of class vs job. All hotbars will transfer over, even if you move the data files to a folder for a character who doesn't have that job or class unlocked. If you want to copy a job bar to a class, it's

/hotbar copy CLASSABRV 1 JOBABRV 1

or from job to class
/hotbar copy JOB 1 CLASS 1

Backup and restore system, work for me.
I was on PC and now PS4 Pro.
There's only bug about my common macro.

u can backup once time per day and restore as many time as u need (per character), it's enough for me.

Tried using the server backup tool and also, manually moving the data. I got black boxes on individual macros. Infact, the whole page was gone.
