In all the MMORPGs that I have played in my life, I have never played one where it did not have problems at the very beginning. I have come to accept it as just a necessary evil from wanting to get in the game from the start.

Agreed. But this one has been extra rocky. It's my opinion that SE would benefit a lot from a little communication. We were supposed to be able to log back in almost an hour ago, yet many, if not most, of us are unable to get past the character screen. No explanation. No timetable. Keep in mind that, for Europe, it is the middle of the day. Prime play time for EA customers.
While I am happy I was able to play for a few hours, and highly disappointed in the number of issues and the response from SE.
You obviosuly miss games like Rift and Neverwinter. It was smooth launches.Agreed. But this one has been extra rocky. It's my opinion that SE would benefit a lot from a little communication. Running smoothly is one thing but atleast i was able to play others
I simply can't understand why people actually defend when a MMO launch is fail. Yes, the majority of launches are fail, but hey: We had 4 beta phases! This is SquareEnix, a big fat ass game company! This is not a free-to-play freemium crap game!
We paid for the early access (pre-ordering something unreleased). Stop defending saying that this happens and stop qq. We all paid, we all can rage as much as we like. As consumers, we were sold something that is not happening. Again, this is not a F2P game, this is a paid thing. We expect some decency with promises and dates.
So why the hell we pre-ordered anyway if isn't for the early access and get leveled before normal people? For that ugly mog cap? I don't think so.
This is exactly the way I feel. I expect some rocky starts for smaller companies, but SE had 4 beta phases... I know shit happens, but damn I have barely been able to login this weekend to play. For some crazy reason I thought SE would surprise us and have zero issues during Early Access... or at least very minor ones. They have a smaller margin for error since this is the second time this game was released and they are trying to prove themselves again.

And if you have the right to rage, others have the right to defend it. Me personally i will roll with it, i like the game enough, it is a little annoying all these maintanence's but i would rather have them fix it now then spend days with a broken game.
And yet, in the end, 1.0 failed.......hence why we have ARR. I'd rather have a rocky start (despite how much it sucks) & have them figure out all the issues. We may only have a handful of hours here & there that we can play, BUT - We can still PLAY. I figured not all would be baby smooth. I would have prefered smoother then this, but when they are dealing with millions of lines of coding they need to sort thru, when the issue has the potential of being ONE little piece of broken code that they need to find & fix, or some little glitch that they may never have expected to arise from a way they put things together - they are only human folks. They are trying. My husband & I are just going to enjoy what we can & be glad we have that. We've still been having fun. Sad for whoever would rather complain then enjoy what they have.
