FF 14 MAKING MY COMPUTER OVERHEAT !!!

I have a computer that has a display on the front of my tower which shows me the temperature of my CPU, HDD, and SYS. When I play any other game, or surf the net it hovers around 27 degress Celcius. When I play FF 14 ARR they double in temperature to around 50-51 degrees Celcius. I am not sure if this is just a driver issue or a serious problem, but it needs to be checked out. I can send pictures VIA email if you would like

~50* C is decent temperatures for a CPU under a video game load. It's not over heating, it's just fine.

EDIT: Also, I don't see a video card under your system specs. You have one right?

50c is not overheating one bit...especially on a i5 2500k so you have nothing to worry about

those cpus are safe till around 80c~ although you wouldnt want that to be a 24/7 temp of course but in the 50s is perfectly fine for heavy load and this game does seem pretty taxing...

my i7 3930k @ 4.5ghz OC sits around 60c while playing and both 680 vid cards around 70c and theyve been running with those temps in various games over the past 1-2 years minus some upgrades here and there

It's possible that the bios is set to warn you at 50C+ which I don't understand why that would be for a desktop PC. 50-64C is pretty nominal temperatures for a desktop. My PC is 50C (CPU) and 63C (GPU) right now which is completely normal.

This is awesome for turning off some unwanted programs and services while playing a game (and getting them going again without rebooting) > http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster

I've experienced some games heating up my Nvidia video card. I downloaded the performance plugin for the nvidia control panel. Within that you can change the setting for when your video card fan speeds up. Honeslty 50c doesn't sound bad at all. I have my fan set to go to 100% at 60c. I was getting worried about another game heating my vid card up to 80c.

You can also monitor your temps with one of these (to verify what your reading off the case):

    http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
    http://www.cpuid.com/

Also, consider cleaning your case and fans (open up the case and get the dust bunnies out). Also, since I have a vid card that has hdmi stuffs I had to uninstall the Nvidia HD sound stuffs since that was using GPU. If you have 3d installed you can probably uninstall that too.

But, maybe you have ATI and then I dunno.. LOL
