They canceled my pre-order?!

On the PSN right? They're refunding people for an issue and will be giving a code via XMB for a free copy of the of the game you previously purchased.

My physical copy of the PS3 Collector's Edition was also cancelled this past Wed from an online order at Toys R' Us.

Anyone have any idea why they would do this ?

Yeah honestly i would have ordered from amazon or Square enix, never from from walmart, target etc. as i never expect them to have things in stock. Always go with trusted providers. I believe the ones listed were bestbuy,Walmart(yeah nooo!), Amazon, Gamestop(Pffft), Square enix site(Duh)

The E-mail I got read this:

We are reaching out today in reference to your recent order, order number ############. Due to the unanticipated popularity of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Collector's Edition for Sony PS3 and limited supplies by the manufacturer, we are unable to fulfill your order and as a result, your online order will be cancelled. You will receive a cancellation email shortly to confirm the cancellation.

And they even added a promotion for $20 off the standard edition but I DID NOT pre-order for a standard edition; if I had wanted a Standard Edition I wouldn't have gone through the process to pre-order. I would have waited till the game was released and sometime down the road go and pick it up.

I got it from SE directly. I ordered the Windows collector's edition. It gave me a message saying "The address is incomplete" even though I put in all requested information.

Must be a pretty high deman. I ordered mine from Amazon back in June, it just shipped today for tuesday delivery. They appear to be sold out.

I've not recieved any emails on my order status, my order is just sitting there. I have sent senveral order inquiries no response. If they cancel this refund for plain jane game is no good, I was looking forward to the digital CE items. I will go order the collectors off of PSN, so I at least have those. At least they told you something, I have no idea what my order status is ATM. This is my first order with them, and my last, if they cancel this.

I didn't get any sort of update until this morning when I saw that it was canceled. I put in a ticket but who knows if it'll get addressed.
