You didn't get a single thing the OP wanted to express, you don't get what the people who ask for FFXI-2 want, nor what anyone else who isn't you wants.
Let me explain it as simply as it is humanely possible.

The OP talked very beautifully about ONE FACTOR PERTINENT TO FFXIV he liked the MOST about FFXI:

The thrill of death and inherent difficulty of the game. Period.

It's perfectly coherent to use FFXI as an example as many people here played it here and THE SAME PEOPLE made it.

He's just saying "Hey, FFXI had this thrill and was hard, FFXIV is easy and doesn't excite me at all. Add thrill to it, add excitement before adding complex features!"

That's it. Yes, he elaborates a lot about the beauty and the adventure of the game, but that's an effective way to convey what he felt about the game. Why does it disturb you so much? Why do you feel the need to make an enormous troll post?

The game sucks, the majority has decided. That's not in discussion. Put your soul to rest. The OP makes a suggestion, he isn't asking for FFXI.

On to the next point: Why are many FFXI fans here and not on FFXI?

Because they didn't like FFXI? WRONG.

1) After 6 years playing it any game gets boring, no matter how fond of it you are.
2) The new expansions changed it too much so old players find 2 weeks noobs accomplishing what they accomplished in 2 years.
3) All their friends quit.
4) Personal reasons.

etc.

They don't necessarily want another FFXI, they want another fun, exciting and inspiring game to play and start as new players in. They instead see a similar game which is faring poorly. It is OBVIOUS to make suggestions based on the previous game. OBVIOUS and LOGICAL.

If there is someone who doesn't want a FFXI clone it is the old FFXI players who have played it for years and are here exactly because they had enough! If you stopped raging and ignoring others' reasons and ideas for a second you would notice that both them and you want just a new, fun game to play.
