If you are with an experienced group you generally have one person designated as the BR initiator and he will have a macro call when BR is started. The group then pushes their BR macro for the set skill and debilitating effect you desire. several different macros among the group for each situation. one to weaken def, another to burst maim or victimize. they can also be combined with magic for other debilitating effects that without question serve only one purpose but to increase damage. An experienced party of 8 shouldn't take any longer than 3 seconds to react to the BR call and put it up. Even the base BR of normal attacks to reduce defense is insanely effective. My maim almost always gains 5% damage (maxed out at 3000 tp for consistency) when the mob is debilitated. The fact that I even need to argue about this is a little confusing.

just go READ what the developers posted. its at max a 3 person deal. a party of 8 should have 2 or 3 BR's going at once. If you honestly aren't using BR during your NM battles you need to sit your LS down and teach them to use it.

I know how they work and what they do. But when experimenting early on they made little difference to the amount of time it took to down an NM after we figured out the best strategy and party layout for taking them down. One thing in favor of BRs that just crossed my mind is the fact that NMs don't evade anywhere near as much as they used to. The BRs might be a lot more useful and effective.

You also need to make sure its not the whole group stacking 7 TP moves up into one BR. 3 at the most, then rotate to keep the NM constantly barraged. It is also extremely effective for boosting drops because you can stack the 3 TP moves that injure left leg for example. Start with Def down Regimen. Then use Maim, chaos thrust, Foeseeker aimed at the leg.

it is effective, but due to the fact that you prepare the skills (especially casting times when useing magic) then trigger.
Its just one short boom and the effect is on, thats just stupid, doenst look any good and no fun to use.
Instead of just using skills/weaponskills one after the other and see/enjoy the animations and the effects you just "store" them and activate, its all fast, no fun. I dont say its not effective but it doenst fit to the current battle system at all. it would fit to a turn based battle environment... if feels like one to me at least.

Due to the fact that you cast/use the skills (but dont see them since they get added up in BR) while adding them to the queue its only natural that its never gonna be/look epic since you cant take the time int he first place to add them and then take the same time for the animation ==> its never gonna be possible to have this system work properly and still its broken way too often and buggy (its not because i/we/ls dont know how to use it, but it just doenst work sometimes still)

My only complaint over Battle Regimen is that it seems to have took over the role of a Black & Red Mage. Defense down? Dia. I really loved seeing a White Mage help out in those kinds of situations instead of just being a curer. Ninjitsu wheel and Black Mage using their spells to enfeeble a certain elemental weakness on the enemy. The overall satisfaction of being able to skillchain on time and reaping the benefits a perfect timer with Magic Burst, too. To me BR is rather boring. Haven't liked it since I figured out what the hell it was. That's just my opinion, though. Cudos to all of you who can stomach that vulgar BR system.

Yeah. But what I'm trying to say is that I think status effects should come from the Class/Job rather than a Battle Regimen. Those should be designated as an alternative to massive damage with coordination similar to the Skillchain & Magic Burst system of FFXI.
