Huge FPS Issues

I run a single 7850 HD in my system.

When I first started playing I was able to play for the most part alright. (only 40 fps though) through early access I started getting huge drops in FPS randomly (i'm talking 5-10 fps -- 100% unplayable) and it was driving me crazy.

So the other day I went ahead and downloaded the beta software for my card and for the first day I was running beautifully at max with 60 fps. Fast forward to today and the max FPS I can run at is 45 and about every 2 minutes my FPS drops to 5-10.

I even went as far as putting the graphics settings as low as they possibly go (grass off, no shadows, all physics disabled) and it STILL happens.

I ran the benchmark and I scored over 6000. What gives?

My FPS dips quite often when there's just no reason for it to happen. Granted not as bad as yours, only drops to 42,but it's still very irritating when running around.
