    They won't even need to turn names off. The Devs know this is for large scale battle fields, so as soon as the level and link indicators are added to the aggro icon, they're adding a toggle so you can turn it off when you don't want it. The aggro icon we have now is basically a test run, one they thought we'd be happy to see and are rather surprised we don't like.

    Sandbox MMO players are often thought of as masochists by the outside communities. As a huge fan of FFXI, I never understood why until I came to the forums and saw all of the violently "vocal minorities" clamoring for challenges.

    Sometimes I feel like this is the basis for comments about babying the players and handholding - that there are people who don't want it to be easy to get to cap, so when they do it's that much sweeter, and those who don't have the option/desire to dedicate their every waking moment to the game are inferior to them in every way. I think it's compensation more than anything else. Drives me nuts. (No, not accusing you, OP, just speaking in generalities)

    I know you're focusing on my more blunt statements, but don't let them detract from my core argument: This isn't the real game. We've never played the game these mechanics are in place to service - so how can we judge them? Your assessment of the aggressive icon proves just that. In time-restricted large scale player versus environment battlefields, the knowledge of which groups of mobs sense you and which don't, what level differing packs are and if they will link, these icons are going to be CRUCIAL in forming a strategy that will end in victory within the time limit.

    Baseless though my FFXI based comments may be in your case, the fact we have no system of judgment for these mechanics leaves your complains without a base as well.
    As in there was no HP regen they added in the game, it was already there. And the icons, you notice them from a mile away. It doesn't make the game any more of an adventure.

    And Jinrya, that is in fact rude about getting my difficulty by running with my weapon out. SMH

    Your telling me to run out with my weapon to make my game harder? What society do you live in, because that is pretty sarcastic imo.

    And Anonymoose, I just want a challenge... I keep hearing people say this isn't work, but it's an MMO. All games require you to level up and grind. IDK just personal prefferences

    I still can't comprehend where that's coming from, though. The formula of that logic, as I think I'm seeing it is:

    There already was HP regen, they didn't add it later. (HOWEVER) Even though it wasn't originally here, they added MP Regen later. (THEREFORE) We don't need it.

    But in my eyes, this is missing to key points. "They didn't add HP regen AFTER the game came out" because it was already there, because they figured we'd need it. "They added MP Regen AFTER the game game out," because ... they figured we'd need it. I don't see where the same reasoning doesn't apply to both situations simply because you independently disagree. I do understand that you disagree, but I don't see this as evidence to support your point.

    As far as aggrocon goes, if the aggressive mobs that vastly outlevel you couldn't kill you before you even knew they were onto your ass, I'd be a little more sympathetic to your cause, but that's an entirely different thread.

    In all honesty, I think MP regen is a good reason to take Exaltation out, not the other way around.

    Running with your weapon out keeps your MP from regenerating, and here you are making a thread saying to get rid of it. I told you how to stop it and how it won't effect your movement speed, hopefully,with the lancer trait.

    i'm glad we have it honestly. i may not use it much, but it is a nice thing to have when i need it. the same thing goes for the hp regen.
