Bumping for the night
Bumping for the night
Um, what is BT. How does an ISP work that way? wtf
Well between error codes and the inevitable 7pm lag i got about two hours playtime in today out of the maximum 9 hours id set aside. Bumo for the night cos this is getting lost with noobs making the same posts over and over again.
"Your former glories and all the stories, dragged and washed with eager hands..but oh your city lies in dust my friend!"
I have also been getting extreme lag making the game unplayable during peak hours. I'm with EE (Orange). At around 12:30 (ten minutes ago) I restarted the client and the lag is gone. If the issue persists tomorrow I'll try a VPN. Are they completely safe to use and legal? Does the VPN provider have the ability to track your data / passwords etc?
Guys, you shouldnt need to use a VPN just to play it, not are SE going to be able to change the way their system works [without patching and changing the infra behind the way it works etc] imo.
Your provider is the one with the traffic shaping here so unless they specificly exempt SE's IP ranges for ARR servers and its services [think firewall ports ranges etc], then nowt is going to happen alas.
Dunno if SE will give you that info to give to BT / EE, but its a bit silly of BT / EE to ask you to get that info as if its not publicly known, then they arent going to give you it.
That said, you could try calling SE's Support Desk [only just noticed this thread so havent read all the pages sorry] and see if they will give you the IP ranges that BT / EE need to exempt / reclassify on their side.
Failing that, contact BT / EE and point out that you're not going to be able to get that and that they should contact SE for this info [if not publicly available].
Sorry if its all been said before, but hope it helps.
Crossing fingers for you all![]()
Yeah we just need BT and SE to communicate with each other and sort out this problem. It is not SE to blame here, it's BT's fault. But unless SE contacts them I don't see this getting fixed.
I guess if enough BT customers complain (to BT) something might get sorted...
I can't stress enough how totally UNPLAYABLE the game is during the evenings... I really do not mind a "bit of lag" but this goes WAY beyond that. BT are effectively BLOCKING FFXIV from being played during the evenings!! But they don't tell you this.. they just leave you to wonder why it's unplayable!
Even trying to talk to an NPC freezes your character for over a minute because of the delay communicating with the server!
The moment this started happening we jumped ship, was on BT Infinity 2, it was terrible and they kept overcharging, some months we pay the proper amount and other months we were paying random amounts. We've just signed up with sky broadband! here's to hoping we won't have any problems!
morning bump.
Well I was actually able to play last night using spotflux but there is no way on earth I should have to be resorting to using software like this:/
