When the patcher updated the other day it left a ghost copy of beta on your system, simply uninstall the beta version and you will be able to patch properly. You're welcome.

This is a fix for PC
I can also confirm that's totally untrue too, I've not got the error and I've never uninsalled the beta, its still just sitting there harmlessly in my SE folder right next to the official version.
Edit: The FFXIV launcher supports resumes after each file is totally downloaded, graphically (at least on the PC version) it always starts over from 0% even when it resumes the download.

I ran into this problem today on one of my pc's getting the latest update. I went into this directory and deleted an old patch file and it updated fine.
C:\Users\*****\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\downloads\ffxivpatch\4e9a232b\patch\(nameofpatchfile stuck in here)
Hope this helps.
You are my SAVIOR! I've spent all day re-downloading the patch over and over trying to fix the problem. When I went into that folder and just deleted it completely and re-downloaded the patch it worked fine. What someone mentioned earlier is true, the previous patches made a leftover "folder" which was technically empty in that location as well causing the patch to be confused as to where to pull the data when adding the downloaded content. When you delete the entire folder from the "My Games" section it will ask you to re-affirm the ToS and such but it will allow you to patch properly. does this happen to fix the early access patch from stopping mid download, and having to start over from scratch? You are my SAVIOR! Thanks guys! this helped a lot.
I fought this all day, I do not see a beta version in my "Programs and Features" but how i got it to take was to update my DNS from my isp's to Googles. Best of luck to everyone!
