Has anyone been able to get crossfire to work?

I used the profile work around to get it work rather well on the benchmark but was unsuccessful in doing the same with the actual game.

Has anyone been able to get it working correctly or has there been any word when an official amd profile will be ready?

CrossFire and ATI are not supported by FFXIV afaik. They only seem to support SLI and Nvidia cards. Probably because Nvidia cards have much better architecture than ATI cards have. ATI cards almost always give off problems like this in my experience with them which is why I use only Nvidia now. However, all that aside, I get over 200 fps with a single card on max settings. Crossfire or SLI is not needed.

not a single reason to even use crossfire or sli unless u have 2 seriously cheap and underperforming videocard. A 100-170$ video card can run this game at max settings w/o any slow down

Actually it's in the works. The game is even optimized for amd.

There was a workaround in the benchmark but I've been unsuccessful in the actual game as of yet so it is possible.

Also, because I already have 2 6870's crossfired your point about needing only one is rather moot. But thanks anyway.

It will be fully supported come launch day from what I know, but even AMD has already provided beta drivers based off the FFXIV beta code

Look at AMD.com they just released 13.8 Beta 2 and it has a new FFXIV profile and stuff. Specifically mentioning crossfire.

Also, $150 GPUs can not run this game at max settings. Maybe at 1280x720, but not at 2560x1600, or 5760x1080, or even 1920x1080. Being that a $150 GPU is around an Nvidia GTX 650.

Sorry a GTX 650 will not play at max settings with everything turned on with anti aliasing at 1920x1080 and maintain a constant 60 FPS at all times.

An AMD 7970 (the equivalent of a GTX 670 Nvidia) plays the game at max settings at 1920x1080 at around 45-60 fps at all times. At 5760x1080 it begins to struggle a bit at max, staying more around 25 to 45.

However, with two of them, I maintain 45-60 FPS so crossfire is working.
This is assuming heavy traffic areas, not being alone in the wilderness by yourself staring at the ground..... btw.

You will notice zero, if not close to zero difference in performance using crossfire. My point is not moot at all. You're just arrogant and refuse to see the facts. Use a single card and your game will run just fine without problems. You can continue this problem you're having and keep creating headache for yourself if you want, but there is no point. That is my point, sorry you're too blinded by your crossfire to see them.
