Thread: Questing advice for v1.0 players

you'll still get the exp for your THM, it's not like you're a lvl 50 confined to the infinite ability to waste the precious. And it's only a couple of job quests which you can't do for other jobs anyway because they're thm guild, then after that you can change job as you please once you're done with the lvl 10 thm quest

(Though as long as the other jobs have levels on them already, you can change straight away without doing the job quests to lvl 10, just can't do other job quests til they're done.)

You wil get exp on you lvl 30 when you do the main storyline but it will be exp for the lvl that the storyline quest is at I did this in P3 and P4 and from P3 as it was in P4 you will get exp just not so much. in Beta P4 you did not get exp on any job that was over the lvl cap so I countered that with using my lvl 15 LNC in P4

I have CNJ at 25 and THM 20 I am still thinking which I want to finish first. I am thinking CNJ and if that's the case I will just used the storyline and class quests to help it level faster.

My suggestion would be to try and reap the most EXP possible by starting out as a ACN. You'll eventually want to use some cross-class skills from ACN on BLM anyways. As a Lv30 THM, you wouldn't get as much EXP doing the starting quests. It would be best saved for one of your other classes you may want to level later.

I see. Sounds like once I hit the lvl 10ish quests (or specifically, a job change quest?) then I would what, skip to a camp at the appropriate level to continue? Does it matter what job I'm on as far as the main story quests go? (Meaning can I play different main storyline quests with different jobs? Or does it need to be all on the same job?)

Ah yes, that's what I was getting at. I'm more of a min/max player so I want to make the most out of every exp.
Unfortunately, I started as a THM when I redesigned my v1.0 toon, before I thought about this. So i'll probably only play it far enough to switch jobs to a low level support job or something like PUG or ACN and play the main story with that till I catch up to my THM, then switch (or BLM once I unlock it...not sure how that all goes yet).

Sound like a good plan?

You can do the actual main story as anything you want as long as you meet the level requirement
The only ones that are locked to the job are specifically the job/guild quests themselves. ^^

Any job at lvl 0 when you start requires you to unlock it from it's respective guild, which means you need to do the start job quests to 10 to be able to join that guild.
However, once you have gotten your lvl 10 job quest done, you can join any and as many guilds as you choose without confinement
