EA=Beta test 5
Why are people complaining about something that was to be expected? Not only did they have beta people going on the servers but they also had pre order people joining aswell which could have been a huge amount for all we know and SE did not exspect the traffic to be this high. This is normal for a start of a mmo so just wait till things level out abit before repeating dozens of other posts
I have to agree with the OP on this one. I love this game but the issues that are causing downtime should have been resolved during several months of closed beta testing. If the excuse is that the traffic is higher than it was during closed beta, then the open beta should have lasted longer than a day. I say a day before the majority of us were locked out the majority of the weekend due to errors.
a "majority" of us were not locked out...simple mathematics will tell you that...i was locked out from mid day Saturday CST so I got very little time in Phase 4...but look at the numbers and be objective...

Yeah it's kinda sucky with all of the server problems but in my experience mmo's usually suffer these problems for the first week or so. I guess we just gotta try be patient![]()
Anyone who deluded themselves into thinking a HEADSTART is "release" for an mmo obviously have never been through MMO headstarts before. The headstart is a perk that the dev's throw our way for those of us willing to preorder. It is no more than another beta test that allows the users to carry over character information to the live release. EVERY mmo headstart had downtime and maintenance for numerious bugs. Aion, Rift, SWTOR i could go on and on with all the mmo whose headstarts ended up being mostly downtime. If this is your first mmo headstart then let this be a lesson to you. Its nothing more than another beta test. Expect it next time.
Hey this is about what happens with MMO's when they first come out.
Vanilla WoW's launch: Unplayable for close to 48 hours (People even forget that Blizzard shut down servers for 24 hours to "increase" their capacity half way through the expansion) TBC: Oh you lost all your stuff due to the server crashing 15 times, whoops.
Guild Wars 2 launch: Whoops, we didn't make the servers large enough for everyone to play. Force crashed the server at least every hour for 72 hours.
Guild Wars 1 launch: What's a server? Oh we forgot to give you guys extra ones, sit in that 2 hour queue to log in...SIT IN IT
SWG: Yeah that mess was interesting....
City of Heroes/City of Villains: You wanna play your game? Good luck, for the next 2 weeks cuz, likelihood is you won't.....
Planetside: You call that lag? Server crashed 22 times in under an hour due to volume of people logging in....
Rift: You wanna do what? Zone out? How do you zone out from your Desktop?
Diablo 3: ERROR 37. NO NEED TO CONCERN YOURSELF HERE.
Anyone who thinks a game fresh out of a beta launches perfectly is stupid. Games going from Beta -> Live always have issues due to how the process is handled. Also in Beta they never get the sheer volume of people they do when it goes live. I'm happy they are fixing it now instead of Tuesday when everyone else who couldn't pre-order get's super pissed.

Hmm fyi I did ping both the NA/Eu server set and the JP server set and received a difference of about 10 to 15 ms average from the pacific time zone, soo if the updates and errors on the NA servers are bothersome just head over to a JP server.
In all honesty I'm not all that worried, errors and bugs will appear and get fixed. ^^
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!Fear profits a man nothing!

Here's some info... we didn't have nearly as many issues with 1.0 as we do 2.0 in terms of accessability... if they rewrote the game as a patch(or group of patches to be more precise) or expansion we would have alot less issues.
