Unable to Need item

I was running Brayflox's Longstop and a pair of Aetherial Scale Fingers dropped. (GLD PAL MDR WAR LNC DRG). I was playing as a DRG and unable to need the item despite it being available for my class. I did not already have a pair in my inventory.
