I'm currently full exited (ctrl+alt+delete, and end program) And see if that kicks me out of the quest.
Edit: Confirmed, unfreezes you. Just don't do the quest till bug is fixed.

Tell us how that works for you. My client has been "loading" my instance for 15 minutes now, after the first time I received the above mentioned error.

alt-F4ing out of the game gave me back control too
SE mentioned they're aware of/working on the issue around 9:30ish EST.
Confirmed Alt+F4 relog works.
I'm having the same issue with the quest "Lord of the Inferno", I'm stuck at unable to connect to the Duty Finder.
