auto-soft item? how it work

sorry to ask this here but I am really not sure how the auto-soft item is work , I do tick or untick that in character confi > character >inventory > auto-soft items, but my inventory just stay the same , which is no soft , still here and there item with empty slot in middle, so any1 know how to make this work , thanks you.

I think after you enable it it will put certain items in specific bags. Like craft items in one, consumables in other and so on.

the item just fill into the space I think , probably it just a bug that happen on me , I just don't see anything that is soft, like the dark matter have 1 in first page and other on the last page in inventory, and all gear in armoury are same and no lv soft etc.
so if any 1 have this work then im sure it have something wrong on me.

Very much dislike the many small bags. I know this will most likely be addressed in an add-on in the future but I would love it now =(

Okay this is how it goes..
Bag one and two is for junk/gather
Bag three is for consumables and 4 is overflow.

then I am sure this not work on me, my item like hp potion is on last page , and mp potion on page 1, antidote on page 2 , even on same page there is like first line have 5 slot 1and 2 have different kind of item and 3 and 4 empty, 5 have something else .

I don’t mind the new inventory layout but they need to adjust the auto-sort, make it more useful. Have different options on how you’d like to have your items/gear sorted. It becomes very annoying when you are looking for items on the retainers, especially if you’re a crafter with lots of materials.
