    AoE Toggle missing

I was playing on one of my alternate characters (4/9/2011, 1:35am CDT) Oclesia Rastova. Anyway, I had been playing her to rank 14 Pugilist, and for the first time equipped her with a cane to level Conjurer. Upon trying to cast any spell at all, I could not toggle AoE with "Z" as the green icon the indicates whether AoE is on or off would not appear. I logged off and switched to another character to check, and on both Thaumaturge and Conjurer, the AoE toggle appeared. I switched back to Oclesia, and the toggle still would not appear for her.

I remedied the situation by resetting my widgets, at which point it did finally appear, and allowed me to toggle. This should be fixed as soon as possible though, as it could cause many new players to not realize they can toggle AoE.

Thank you for you report about this. To be able to submit a report about this, a bit more information would help with this.

Since toggling with "Z" does not provide an indicator in chat, was AoE not turning on at all, or the status could not be seen?
Was the widget moved to a different location where it was not immediately noticeable or hidden? Resetting it would have moved it back to being visible in this case.

Hopefully with that information we can better determine if this is a error in the game, a suggestion on improving the widgets, or valuable information for new customers.

did you try to cast using a macro such as /ac "Fire" <st>? if so it doesn't appear that way. only by manually selecting a spell from you action bar will the green aoe on/off button appear.

In this particular scenario, it was mainly a widget issue. /aoe on and /aoe off worked. Just the widget and Z did not work. On this character, I had never had the widget appear before as this was the first time she had ever been switched to a class that could use magic and had access to the toggle so I had not had a chance to move it. The only widgets I had adjusted on her were the size of the chat logs to make them longer, and the shorten the xp bars. I had not adjusted the location of any widgets nor had I make the chat logs long enough to cover the default location of where the aoe toggle widget should be. It just flat out refused to appear or work until I had reset my widgets as a last ditch attempt. I was honestly surprised it worked.

I experimented on numerous, though unfortunate, marmots. The only time I could get my spells to strike multiples was after I manually typed the toggle. Hitting Z had no effect until after the widget reset.

I never use macros to cast, I only ever select them off the action bar.

Yes. This was on conjurer that I was having the problem. Please read my whole situation before commenting. The problem was that when I changed to conjurer on this character who had never before been a magic class, her aoe toggle widget would not appear or function until after I reset the widgets. Thus this could be a problem for new customers if the issue is not fixed. I at no point tried to use magic on her as a Disciple of War. Pugilist was merely mentioned as it was her class prior to the change to Conjurer.
