Actually on Dodore, Mosshorn, and Goblin, the rage timer does not start until all minions are dead. So as long as minions are alive you can hold indefinitely.

My only problem is being able to keep the mob claimed without fighting it... making them essentially wipe proof.... thats not cool... especially since these NM's regen at a very high rate... by the time your party heals up, so has the NM
So you just keep a low level party member far enough away to not fight it, but they stay in active mode to keep the claim? that CAN'T be how SE intended it
Well, someone posted a how-to on keeping claim forever, and it was forwarded to the devteam. Since they are re-working the claim system anyhow, I suspect that it will get removed then. Of course, then someone will find a new exploit, but hey, that's the nature of the beast.

There is also an exploit in the same vein, where if the whole party wipes, then as long as one person does not respawn, it will stay claimed.
