Servers Locked Again..!!

I did not write one bad post about FFXIV since I started 3 years ago, but this really has me on the edge of quitting. I played and followed lots of MMORPG (EQ, EQII, FFXI, WoW, Lineage II and more), but none had this kind of crap happening.

I think at the very least SE should make some kind of response regarding Moogle.

the server has been locked for creation for the entire day, its insanely over-populated and impossible to do anything. you cannot do any monster hunt quests because there's almost 100 other people all trying to do it at the same time, any single spawn is dead before your global cooldown has ended from the first attack and no-one gets credit.

If SE wants to spread the population out, then why dont they offer free transfers OFF moogle for those who want them, i'm sure there's people with P4 characters who'd be ok moving to another server, once the congestion dies down they can then re-open Moogle for creation.

but staying silent while people agonise and waste entire days on the slim offchance that it'll open for the split second they need is poor, very very poor.

Full 40 person guild supposed to be on Behemoth, 20 of us cant create characters. Please get these servers unlocked so we can play this MMO with our friends instead of strangers.

This is a nicer way of saying it than I am feeling at the moment.

I emailed customer service requesting a refund on my digital download copy of XIV:ARR, as the only reason I bought it was for Early Access, which I don't have. (I already owned 1.0 CE but was not Legacy) I'm not hopeful I'll get it, as we cannot even get into the game or a comment stating when they expect us to be able to create characters on locked servers.

The problem isn't that there is a lock, the problem is there hasn't been any solid information regarding World selection lock-outs going on 17 hours.

I'm sure there are a hell lot of people who are like us but can't log in to post on this forum because THEY CAN'T EVEN CREATE THEIR CHARACTERS. That's why it looks like hardly any people complain about this issue.

Almost 20 hours in and still not lifting the restriction on Tonberry...

Hello, this is FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Producer and Director, Yoshida.

The maximum expected population limit is nearing for each World, and unless the current World simultaneous connection amount decreases, we are unable to open release the limitation.

In case we do release the limitation, there is a high chance that the corresponding World will crash or cause issues, and we are thinking that it will be difficult for us to release it for a while. We please ask you to consider playing in a World that has a low limitation.

That is unacceptable. They knew they were going to have a popular game and should have prepared a server structure that would accommodate the player base that was easily and rapidly expandable. Now they are saying they arnt going to lift the restriction and will probably be trying to charge us for character transfers once the population dies down or they figure out what to do with the servers.

This is not looking good for the PR for this game.

GuildWars 2 - Server overflow to help friends connect and play together - this worked wonders for me and my pals.
WoW - Free character transfers to select low pop servers for friends to meet, connect, and play.
FF14 ARR - Sorry, we can't do anything

I am surprised they haven't thought of anything to actually HELP people play with their friends.
MMOs are meant to be played with your friends, whether you have 2 or 20. They should have thought of this scenario before the opening of Phase4 and EA. Put some sort of plan together, people want to play with their friends, that's the bottom line.

It would be nice if they did offer some sort of service for established players (lvl 25+ or whatever level) to leave high pop servers to low pop servers to play with their buds.
