Servers Locked Again..!!

It's not even official launch, I think of early access as Phase 5 of the beta. They get to iron out all the congestion issues before the big day. Imagine, if early access is congested when only a limited amount of people are connecting then launch day will be worse when the whole world can connect. I think they are doing a great job given the situation, all those other MMOs that were mentioned that didn't have lockup issues at launch were probably not as popular so not that much ppl connecting. They were probably not expecting this many people wanting to play their game and what is the point of having, for example 80 servers when you are only expecting to use 40 just a waste but now that they are aware of how popular their game is they are doing all they can. So it's either maintenance or let everyone connect and the servers will crash and you wont be able to play anyway so hang in there is only for a few hours.

This is starting to really get ridiculous. Now they are actually unable to keep PAYING customers playing, this is really unreal.

"Unable to update Group NA/EU character list" There are no NA/EU servers listed. I'm really not wanting to have to play on a JP server. Early Access has been going for about 10 hours now. I knew there was going to be a mess when the servers opened up, that's why I just went to bed and waited it all out. However, I really thought 10 hours would have been enough time to get things figured out. This is a sad day. =(

Pro Tip: In an MMO, players like to play with their friends on the SAME server. Locking character creation should be the last thing you do.

Can't you add more server capacity or open additional servers to meet the demand?

Best thing a company can do is to ignore all the whine on a release day. SWTOR has shown what happens if they don't!
@Vertexdude This seems to be your first MMO Release since all you do is whine about things that always happens. And ppl that can't do anything else than whine and insult others aren't needed.
btw can i borrow that timemachine i want to know too what happens next year.

I don't see how you can fully fault SE for this, they have tried to do everything they can for this community to give us a new game. There is a cap on server capacity, every MMO has it so this is nothing new.

I mean we have a whole 5 servers to try and, not only fit all the 1.0 on, but our 2.0 friends because players didn't want us on new 2.0 servers. Yet there are 20 new servers, for 2.0 characters and their friends to pick from and if people are on a 2.0 server they only have like 4 days of saved levels which is easy to get back if they really wanna play with friends.

If people don't want to make it work to be together thats not SE's fault. I know 1.0 people who totally started over on new servers to be with their friends. But SE is trying to do the right thing by balancing the server so they have good communities/populations and there isn't really anything wrong with that other than it being an inconvenience.

It was a massive group that was a mile long and pretty deep. The servers are pretty jam packed. There obviously aren't enough servers to spread the population out adequately.

BTW kudos to SE for excellent graphics performance in this game, I thought my video card was going to explode, but it didn't.

lol sounds like a normal first day of EA to me unfortunately, What SE should have done was:

1) made more than 5 Legacy servers.
2) made more servers period.

Then once everything was settled, merge server together with low populations and worked down to what they needed. Not work up and fill them up before making more, but still no one can see the future and they are doing the best they can under the circumstances.
