3 servers already locked down less than 45 minutes after launch? WTF?

I was led to believe the problem isn't capacity, but that they are trying to prevent the starting areas from becoming over-crowded and making it difficult for people to complete quests.
I'm pretty sure SE warned us of this previous to EA.
Lets be honest...You're either going to complain about not getting on a server right now or that it's impossible to complete quests due to over-crowding.
So SE can't win either way. >.>;;;

I see your point but I'd rather be playing the "Who tags the hornet/squirrel first" game than the "update server list" game...

I'd rather PLAY with my friends, and not being able to complete a quest than staying here pushing a stupid button every 3 minutes (insanely boring).
At least in the first case, i'd be actually playing.

For all i know, looks like Moogle is gonna be in this state for ever, being at the very bottom on that server list, whatever it could mean, it might be "most godamn engorged server of all time, plz wait 11 weeks before hoping create your avatar.

Unfortunately I don't think there as ever been a successful launch with no problems.
Maybe they should have done a similar EA launch as The Old Republic and just let groups of people in based on when they pre-ordered.

I have a few friends talk me into leaving another MMO and joining this one for the launch. I now can't play with them because their server is locked. Hopefully it will balance out and I'll be able to get on and play with my friends. If not I guess I'll be saving my monthly payment for a different game.

Ok can we get an official word on this? I can't play with friends? Let me transfer off or open up all servers so we can at least get characters on the same server. My friends bought this and we can't even play together, WTF?

At one point, there was 11 servers locked, now there's only 8, but still not the server I need.

Only took me about 40 minutes to even get the character screen to load....then when I go to create new character on Leviathan server with friends... Moogle (EU), Leviathan (NA), and Gilgamesh (NA) are already locked by 5:45AM Eastern?

Was bad enough this crap happened during Beta4 with the limited number of players....but now that we are live, they should have a high enough cap to prevent this kind of crap.

Perhaps we need to all get a free one time use transfer voucher when they activate the world transfer service?

And now Behemoth (NA) is down when I refreshed at 5:58PM Eastern. Guess we have no choice but continue on with characters from Beta and hope we can find or friends next month... sucks we'll have to pay to do what was implied we would be able to do for free during creation--join the proper server with our friends.

This is sort of ridiculous. To even have servers already locked on release is (once again) poor planning and communication on SE's part. Even a little more information in the log in screen regarding server congestion or even a queue would be useful. I got this game to play with my friends, and 60 minutes after launch the server we wanted was locked out.

And this is early release.. What happens when the tidal wave of standard release comes out? :/

I know.. Complaining, and I read the issue about the starting zones.. Just hoping someone important is reading these forums. I will not play this game if I can't play with my friends.
