    I have been having the same issue since Phase 4. It doesn't even need to be a crowded area and I don't even need to be moving, I will just crash. This has happened in all the areas around Limsa Lominsa. The game crashes every 5-10 minutes (making it borderline unplayable in some cases) with no error message but sometimes I'll at least get "An unexpected error has occurred" message.

    Here are a few key system specs:
    OS: Windows 7 64 Bit - Most recent updates
    GPU: Radeon HD 7970 (crossfire) - Drivers are up to date
    CPU: AMD FX 8350
    Game Video Settings: Maximum

    Well, I decided to try turning off my crossfire and the game started running significantly smoother and hasn't had a single crash since I have done so. I guess maybe there is just no crossfire/sli support.
