    Fixed it!

    Weks had it about right yup. I went there, then followed another link, to another link, and wound up here: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ Essentially, if you are in North America like me, uninstall the launcher you got pre-release or the other day then install this new one, reboot, and it should work! Apparently the updater to the pre-release launcher is bad? I don't know, but this worked for me. If you are looking for the European regional download look here: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/eu/

    The Only problem is it will re-download the entire game if this isn't the same launcher you used...

    I hope they make a new update to fix this, cause re-downloading can be a pain if you have slow internet.
