I ran the ffxiv launcher. The launcher box comes up all black and then an error box appears "http://frontier.ffxiv.com/arr_win/index.html?rc_lang=en=us"
I've tried restarting my PC and resetting my internet connection, but problem still persists.

I have the same issue. The error code is 400. I've had this since Phase 4. Eventually, the launcher will start, if I open it enough times, but this should not be the "fix" for an error.
EDIT: After 50 minutes of constantly relaunching the application, the launcher loaded.
EDIT:That doesn't seem to be the same issue.I came across this older thread regarding this problem. http://forums.na.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=4872
I'm currently reinstalling my launcher and will post here if I get a solution. If anyone else has a solution, please share it here. Thanks!
EDIT: Server went down for maintenance and is back up now. I'm getting error 400 again.

I had same problem and after 4 hours of searching solution. It helped that i put default internet settings from explorer. Go to tools and bottoms is properties and there last tab at right and bottom of that page use default settings etc. Then just reopen explorer to get settings inuse and also same to launcher.
If u get unable to download version when clicking play. You need to clear temp folder,go to users/user/appdata/local/temp.
Also you need to have showing hidden folders on to see appdata folder.
None of these solutions have helped me and I'm receiving the same error. Does anyone have a solution yet?
I'm having this same error as well, sometimes it goes away, but currently I can't play.
I'm having the same issue, I'll see if any of the responses in here help, and if not I'll let you know if I find a solution.
Weks had it about right yup. I went there, then followed another link, to another link, and wound up here: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ Essentially, if you are in North America like me, uninstall the launcher you got pre-release or the other day then install this new one, reboot, and it should work! Apparently the updater to the pre-release launcher is bad? I don't know, but this worked for me. If you are looking for the European regional download look here: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/eu/
The Only problem is it will re-download the entire game if this isn't the same launcher you used...
I hope they make a new update to fix this, cause re-downloading can be a pain if you have slow internet.

Redownloading the installer still doesn't work for me. The only workaround that I've found is running CCleaner before starting the launcher. Seems to work well enough for now. I hope they fix this problem soon. It's really annoying, but it doesn't seem to be affecting a lot of players.
