    My Avatar does not perform actions while logged in

    I log in to my avatar on my new laptop. The problem is all avatars in the game, including my character, have arms open and do not perform actions. Actions include: emotes, crafting, running, battle, ect... My avatar is fixed with arms wide open. I have updated all my drivers for my AMD Radeon HD 6470M card. My laptop has two graphics card and weaker graphics card on the motherboard allows my avatar to perform all actions. When I switch to the higher graphics card then my avatar fails to do anything. I can still run around and get things done, but my avatar is "locked" with arms open. This laptop should be able to handle the game on moderate settings, please help.

    Haven't heard this one before.

    Please post your entire system specs for us, by going to FFXIV config - System - Copy to clipboard.

    You might try lowering your FFXIV settings to see if something in particular triggers the problem.

    Have had this issue off and on with one or two random NPCs (namely the Ferry steersman) and a couple others, but never heard of it happening to everyone at once.

    I would like a screenshot for the sole reason of pleasing the game developer in me. I've never seen this and I've been playing since CB3.

    But, it sounds like corruption; be it file (game or driver) or network (packets). After doing what Grit suggested, and if it doesn't work, try reinstalling the game and/or using a different NIC/cable? (could try updating chipset drivers too). Although, that'd be partially irrelevant to it working on the integrated GPU; but it's worth a try.

    If that fails, you may have a bad video card; or it's ATI's drivers on your system causing an issue.

    I am having this exact same problem. Although I wouldn't wish it on someone else, it's a relief to find that I'm not the only one.

    I just got a new laptop with a nicer AMD card (precisely for the purposes of playing this game!), and no matter what I do, none of the characters will move. They're all rigid with their arms at a 45 degree angle. I have reinstalled 3 times without issue and tweaked my graphics settings again and again without resolution. I even tried reinstalling from a different iso I downloaded. No dice.

    If anyone has suggestions, I would REALLY appreciate it!

    I have the same problem and a report has been submitted to the developers by the moderator. but here's a screenshot for anyone who's curious.

    also, i think it's worth mentioning that i also have two graphics cards. One for regular things, and one for high performance.

    If you have switchable graphics, you can use the motherboard card and it'll fix the problem, but at the cost of having to lower the video settings, and even then it's a bit choppy. I'm going to try disabling the weaker card and see if that works.

    disabling the weaker card does nothing to help

    I've had this once or twice but it only messed up one NPC somehow. Managed to fix it by relogging.
    It reminds me of the civilian models in Team Fortress 2

    So, my laptop had a driver update for both graphics cards as well as the bios, and the problem was fixed. Right before they implement the subscription fees >:|

    P.S. I can't stop playing, it's so awesome ;_;
